  1. Congrats to you both, I am 6 weeks post op as well. As of yesterday! Down 58 pounds. 42 more to go!
  2. Did your doctor not write you out on short term disability? I’m 3 weeks post op and today has not been a good day at all! Body is not wanting no food and barely fluids! No way I could have done a day of work!
  3. Ditto! I am looking for vitamins as well! I tried the Optifast chews and I don’t like the chalk taste. I tried the bariatric advantage chewables in wild grape, it has a bitter after taste……has anyone tried any other flavor of the bariatric advantage gummies? Or any other brand that taste good?
  4. I am officially in phase 2 / phase 3…… had my 1 week post op follow up! My Doctor said to start the puréed phase. At that point I let him know I had unsweetened applesauce on day 7. So he advanced me to phase 3 to try soft foods if I can tolerate it! I can down apple sauce throughout the day. I tried the ricotta bake today, and some diluted juice. As surges replacement gives me headaches, but figure out if it’s the juice or ricotta bake my stomach dance around on? Has anyone newly tried the ricotta bake vs eggs and grits?
  5. Hi Rrider I had mine the same exact day, I’m doing a little better with liquids! I have kind of been gulping a little more! I rotate between room temp water, and sugar free popsicles! A big help has been little pellet ice, if gives my body time to digest before the next mouth full! So I’m giving myself plenty water! I recently graduated myself to unsweetened apple sauce and I have been doing the chewables and some broth strained from chicken noodle soup!
  6. I feel the same about the optifast chews, I ordered the bariatric pal multi gummies! Has anyone tried these?
  7. I’m not in pain per say, but I have spells of a little nagging headache or lite headedness. Which I assume is from the lack of sugar, because I did not have it with my optifast shakes. The sugar replacements and I do not agree, I think it’s genetics. My mother had breast cancer and she can’t tolerate sweeteners since her surgery. So I am just ready for juices that I will dilute with some water! Ready for grits, eggs with cheese, and salads lol! Once I make it to next Tuesday I know I’ll be much better lol!
  8. I didn’t have but maybe 1-1.5 days of pain, or gas! So my stomach no longer hurts, just seems excess gas lol. I am an officially post op 1 week today. I just order the multi chews today, can’t wait to get them!
  9. I am just trying to make it until next Tuesday, when I can have grits and scrambled eggs! I was supposed to start phase 2 on Friday, but I’m tired of the liquids so I started unsweetened applesauce today!
  10. Hi all I am new here! But I have read the most recent posts, I had the same concerns. I had my VSG 08/23/21 I promise it’s mind over matter! The best thing you can do once your put in your room is walk, walk, walk, and walk! Walk some more! Don’t wait for your nurse to get you out the bed, by the time my nurse stopped by I had already did 2 laps! My gas had substantially subsided by the morning of day 2. Once you pass gas it’s down hill! I only had one dry heaving fit, where I was trying to throw up but couldn’t. It’s been 7 days, and I have found that eating a large cup of fish ice is best, instead of trying to sip and wait! I just added unsweetened apple sauce too!
