oldandtired got a reaction from 18kDays in Who has done this alone with no support system?
I was alone. I had someone take me and take me home, other than that....I slept a lot. It is an easy surgery--(I have had several, so I consider myself an expert, LOL) I have kids, but an hour away. Eat the way you are supposed to, take the pain meds, make sure you have something for nausea.

100 percent on the restless feeling, I open the fridge, sigh and close it. I look in the pantry, sigh and close it. I am not depriving myself, just don't know what to do. Restless.
Also- I decide on something, fix it, sit down with it, and go "Meh..."
  3. Congrats!

Whelp six months post op tomorrow!

I still do not have "hunger" but I find myself more snacky over the last few weeks. It is annoying. I still stay within my plan limits 98% of the time, sometimes going over my calories (within 100) but usually with still healthier Snacks and foods.
I have been eating out more because life is so crazy and hectic right now, which I need to chill there too.

We are going to Florida/Disney the first week of October so I will be forced to eat out then, which is just another reason to stop now.

Overall I really don't have any complaints. No issues, and still kicking butt.

I see my surgeon for my 6 month check up next week and I am still ahead of the predicted weight loss chart he gave me.

I am JUST NOW starting to really see my weight loss in full body pictures. Even more so since I have been wearing clothes that fit rather than huge and falling off.
Tons of friends have been commenting and sending me inspiring messages or when they see me say something. It is kind of nice that people are noticing the work I am putting in. Regardless of that, when I saw pictures of myself from the weekend I was like WHOA who is this person?!?!

Flipside, I look like a half deflated Water balloon naked. 😂😝 HAHA!

KEEP GOING PEOPLE- WE GOT THIS!

6 months and hit 100 lbs loss today since surgery and 137 total!

I am 8 months post op. I get hungry.. but not the same way as before. No hunger pains, but a kind of...restlessness, lol, like a dog that can't quite find a good place to lie down. I like to eat, but this surgery has made me do what I should have done all along. Not eat as much.

I had the gastric sleeve with Dr ceaser elenes. The surgery itself was 1000/10. Didn't feel any pain or experience any issues. Excepted the fact that I woke up speaking Spanish....😂😂😂. Followed the after diet for the first 3 months and lost 80lbs.
    Surgery date. June 1,2022
    Price $3000
Travel $700 (from Miami to mexicali,Mexico).
    Hw 384lb
    Surgery 372lb
    Currently weight 291.
    Pros:
The price extremely affordable. Had been getting dicked around by my insurnace for 3 years.
The care (bedside manner) of the doctor.
Getting a new lease on life(not to sound corny).
No more early morning back pain. sleep apnea. Blood pressure meds.
Cons. As with any out of the country surgery lack of a follow up. After the first three months your done no more care. You are on your own... kinda scary.
But do I regret my decision hell No.
    A great price
    Great doctor
    Great facilities.
    I give it a rating of 9/10.

I too have Tricare. It might just be an excuse, as quite frequently some doctors won't take Tricare. Doesn't pay enough.
A thought: make them put it IN WRITING why they refuse.

As regards to the sugar free syrups, they are amazing--and you can find them in the oddest places. I went to the Christmas Tree store, and found some wonderful ones...

I just found this on TRICARE-west.com. I would ask the insurance company first to make certain this is for all TRICARE but as you can see your answers to these questions should be satisfactory for them to let you see whatever doctor is willing to help you. They just want to know that you are not just being picky with doctors and that you tried to find someone in network first. You just have to get approval ahead of time. And be certain to ask if approving this means they are covering it at an IN NETWORK RATE
In the rare case that network providers are not available or there is a clinically significant reason care must be provided by a non-network provider, clear and detailed documentation must be provided for consideration of this request. The documentation should include answers to the following questions:
Is the request due to a beneficiary preference or is it based on medical need? Has the beneficiary seen other specialists who cannot manage his or her condition? If so, please provide consultation reports. Have all available network providers been ruled out? If so, which network providers have been contacted? What is unique about the patient's condition and/or the provider's credentials that requires him or her to see a non-network specialist?
