I'm almost 2 years op post VGS. I had lost a total of 80lbs but in the last few months I have managed to gain 30lbs. I've gotten back into my old habits and I feel like a complete loser. I don't know where to go from here. I want to reach out to my doctor to help me get back on track but again I feel like I've failed and I'm embarassed. Does anyone have any advice on how to get back on track? Any help is appreciated.
  2. Thanks

Never feel embarrassed to ask your doctor questions. They are there to help. You are not a loser! I would say go back to your bariatric basics. Protein and hydration. But definitely ask your doctor and dietitians what they would suggest!

You are more than welcome in check back in with the surgeon now rather than continuing to gain. They would much rather see you now than waiting too long and reversing all the good you have done. Your dietician would also rather see you now. Sometimes a few words really can help turn things back around. Talk to some-one who is rooting for you. Kick those old and failing habits back to the curb, 😊

go back to your clinic and don't be embarrassed. Regain is unfortunately very common, so they're used to dealing with that. They can help you get back on track - and they may even put you on meds or something to help you get back on track. Better to deal with it now and not risk it starting to spiral out of control. I can guarantee that you're not the only patient they've seen for help with regain, because I've known several of them (me included!)

I've been with my partner for 10 years. It's been a hard 3 months so far. I've lost a total of 43 lbs since surgery and I want to lose another 60 or so. But my partner keeps on telling me that I shouldn't lose thatch weight that I already look horrible, that the back of me already looks flabby and it I keep losing weight I'm going to look like s#$%. It can get sad talking to him. I've been overweight my whole life so hearing him say these things can get depressing. I don't know why see the positive in this process.

I'm 2 1/2 month post op. I've lost a total of 36lbs since surgery day.
I get frustrated and even little sad when I get on the scale and it's saying I just gained almost 5lbs in 3 days. How does that happen?
