Congratulations! Time to update your profile when you feel up to it.

Oh, what rotten news. I'm so sorry to hear it, and can't even imagine your disappointment.

You said it, not us. ;-D
It's entirely natural to be nervous right before surgery. Here's wishing you a good night's rest, a safe, uneventful surgery tomorrow, and a quick recovery so you can get home and get busy losing. You got this!

Like adding unflavored protein powder to milk (low-fat dairy, unsweetened almond, or soy) and shaking vigorously?
Ask your clinic about using PB2 that soon after surgery -- probably fine if you pour it through a fine-mesh strainer after blending, but of course you should check with your team first.

Yeah, I think it's mainly to test your compliance.
I'm currently going through a long stall despite careful logging, and I'm so afraid I'm going to be judged as non-compliant and be rejected for surgery. 😨

The photo shows a crust which isn't accounted for in this tally. (I frequently forget to log parts of recipes, too.)

I dislike the taste of plain nonfat Greek yogurt, but when I add a liberal amount of Lawry's chili-lime seasoning to it, it makes a tasty enough dip for celery sticks.

If you like crossword/word search/logic puzzles, a couple of fresh puzzle magazines could be good. Or a phone/tablet for online games, if you like those. Best of luck with your surgery!

I'm still pre-op, but I can't wait to get rid of these gigantic clothes. I understand the superstitious resistance, since I hung onto maternity clothes long after they had gone out of style because I was afraid I'd end up pregnant again. But regain this weight again, after so much effort and risk? Nope, not gonna happen. This wardrobe will be history.

Yep, that's probably my worst fear. I came up with this "mortification minimizer" in case the worst happens: https://tinyurl.com/3wjmshue I don't know if I'd actually be able to get the bag open in time, but it's cheap insurance.

How devastating! Condolences to you and all who loved him. May strength, peace, and comfort surround and sustain you all.

Any good news, @HealthyLifeStyle? I've been thinking of you and hoping your nutritionist was able to help. Have you considered the very-high-calorie nutrition shakes? I know Boost makes one that's 700 calories in one tiny juice-box-sized container. (My sister has to drink them while undergoing chemotherapy.)

I suspect those pounds are a special bouncy kind that come back as quickly as they fall off. 😉 Try to aim for steady loss instead, that's my advice (not that you asked for any).
I really appreciate this thread and its details. Very welcome reading for pre-oppers. Many thanks!

Well done, fellow Tarheel! (I'm in CO currently, but NC is home to me.) Such spectacular accomplishments are very encouraging to newbies, so go ahead and toot that horn -- you deserve it.

Nothing for which to apologize. I've enjoyed reading all the replies, and I appreciate them. (Thanks, y'all!) Thread drift on message boards sounds more like natural conversation to me.

I'm at the very beginning of my WLS journey, and I'm hoping to learn from all of you. Is there something you'd like to share with a newbie? Anything you wish you'd done differently on your path? The juicy insider information, perhaps? Please do share.
Got my surgery date!
