Where are all the Michigan people at??

Hi guys, I live in Cadillac, MI. I am also a Grand Traverse Surgery patient. I had my surgery with Dr. Featherstone on 7-10-08. I have had one fill since surgery and go 9-23 for my second. I felt some restriction after for the first 2 weeks after my first fill, but now feel none. Dr. Featherstone seems to be very cautious with his fills. I am hoping I can notice some difference after the second one. I am trying hard to be patient, but it's so difficult. I always feel better after reading these posts knowing I'm not the only one feeling disappointed or impatient at times. I also have thought about going to the monthly support meetings, I know I should go, just make the time and go...I'm sure it would be helpful. Best of luck to all of you!
  5. Hi Jeanne,

I think you are the one I briefly shared a room with at Munson. I am pretty sure this is you after reading your profile. So glad you joined, I just love this site!

  6. Hi, I also have the same pain. You can feel a small lump to the right of my incision, which is where the pain radiates from when I bend or twist. It feels like a little beebe in there. I went today for my 2 week post-op visit and my Dr. said the same thing...it's normal, it's just scar tissue, nothing to worry about. That made me feel better because I had myself convinced I had a hernia. One thing I found that helps with the pain is to put a bunch of medical tape on it criss-crossed. It just helps to hold it in, and when it's held in, it feels much better.

    Who's Getting Banded in July?

Hi guys, My surgery date is July 10. I have been on the pre-surg diet for 10 days now which sounds like its a little different from most of the others I read on here. If I make my protein shakes with water, I can also choose a lean meat to eat 3 times a day, which is nice. I haven't lost as much weight as I thought I would though, only about 8 lbs. Anyway my question is this, on the day before surgery (Wednesday) I'm supposed to have clear liquids only with no red food coloring. Does that mean I can have other colors of jello? What did you guys eat during the clear liquids phase? Thanks!
