We bought this house 5 years ago. Our last house I had heavily landscaped, because I was much smaller and in better shape when I bought it it in 1999. I have barely done anything to this house and probably never would have. I could barely plant a few annuals without feeling like I was gonna have a heart attack Today i landscaped the whole front yard and I wasn't winded at all. I am so happy!!!

This is so real! For a long time I have lived with these versions of "it fits" in my wardrobe
It fits, like I can go out in public fits! It fits, like I can go out in public fits but only if I wear a layer over it or it goes under a long tunic It fits, but only for wearing around the house where no one can see my bulging rolls/gut/boobs/butt It fits, if I can manage to lose 5 pounds. It ...f**k its not even close to fitting.

Now, I must say, I'm still 250 pounds, so I have at least 60 or 70 pounds to go to get to goal and actually more than that to not be considered overweight for my height, but I was almost 400 pounds, so this a huge difference and I'm feeling amazing.
My wedding dress is a size 24. I got married in 2006, and I have not been able to fit into it since 2010. It is now too big! I had to get something notarized the other day and when I got out my driver's license I noticed my weight said 350 and realized I am 100 pounds less than that weight now, which was a lie anyway. Lol That is an amazing feeling. I have never, ever weighed less than what my drivers license said. Even back when I weighed around 150 I never thought I was thin enough and always lied. When I renew it, I will tell the truth, because I accept myself now at any weight. It's been a long journey to get to that point.
I got a new dress the other day and thought it needed a belt and the only one I had was from my highest weight and I can wrap it around me twice. It's crazy!
This might be dumb, and maybe tmi for some, but my belly was so big before I couldn't use a squatty potty, and now I can. I just bought one and it really helps with my Constipation. Lol

The first time I noticed mine I actually made an appointment with my doctor because I felt a “lump” that hadn’t been there before. 🤦‍♀️ I hadn’t ever had a protruding collarbone so I had NO clue.

Also, um how shall I put this...feeling confident that I can comfortably reach the "in-between" crotch spot to give it a good wash.

Being able to buy clothes "off the rack" rather than having to go to a DXL store. It's amazing the difference in cost. When I started the journey I had a 56-inch waist, which non-Big&Tall stores just don't stock.
I've been reluctant to invest a whole lot of money in clothes as I've been losing weight, as ideally I will continue to lose sizes for a bit longer, so why pay for clothes I'll (hopefully) only wear for a couple months. It's like the reverse of being a kid/teenager, when Mom would get frustrated that I outgrew clothes yet again.
However, at some point the old clothes start looking awful, like you're wearing a tent... not to mention heavy and uncomfortable AF. Being in a transition state with sizes and not wanting to spend money, I went to Wal-Mart and bought some $10.97 jeans... first time wearing jeans in over 30 years. Hard to wrap my brain around it... the jeans weren't unbearably uncomfortable. I was able to buy 44-inch waist and now several weeks later, they're already feeling a bit loose. My next shopping trip, it might be 42.
They had a bunch of dress shirts on clearance that rang up at $2. The XL (down from 3XL) fit easily. At that price, who cares if they fall apart in a few washes.
A whole new world: Being able to shop clothing sales and clearance. That hasn't been part of my life in many many decades.

How about Twoferville, that's my next planned stop after I leave 3-how much did you say-village. I can't afford the emotional rent to stay here when Twoferville beckons. And maybe in a month or 2 post-surgery I can move in!

Day 2 home from surgery. Doing well I think. Gas pains/spasms can be painful when they come but for the most part I have minimal pain. Im getting all my fluids and Protein in. Took all my pills ok today. Im breaking my allowed food down into 2 ounce cups and eating with a baby spoon to avoid accidently eating too much at once. Im on a full liquid diet, yogurt, ricotta cheese, sf pudding, protein Soups (clear), sf ice pops, Protein Shakes. Compared to my pre op diet this is heaven lol

Hello Guys and Gals, I had the VSG last Monday, May 10th, 2021 and my only regret is not having had the surgery so many years ago! I had a Lap Band done in April of 2010 which was a waste of time and energy. I had it removed during this sleeve gastrectomy as well as a hernia repair. There was so much scar tissue that the band actually broke in pieces as the surgeon was extracting it. There is a little piece left behind that will not cause me any problems. The EXTRAORDINARY result of this procedure is that I feel as if they injected me with a heavy dose of B-12 that will not quit! I am up and energetic and cannot get to sleep before midnight when my usual bedtime was at around 8pm! I don't know what to do with myself! I am up cleaning, reducing items that were just stored up in the house, EVERYTHING that I would normally just put off due to fatigue! I am so blessed!

I am praying alongside you for a better tomorrow. So sorry for what you're going through but it will get better. The pain will subside and you will be super proud of how far you've come.

I had been considering surgery for years.. At 5'3" and 393 pounds I was super morbidly obese and knew it. Overall, I was still pretty healthy though, and our insurance doesn't cover wls, so I didn't seriously consider it. Then, my liver enzymes started to elevate, and got higher each year I had them done. So I was scheduled to see a liver specialist in February 2020. In January 2020 I had my gallbladder removed and mentioned that I'd be seeing a liver specialist to the surgeon. He said while he was in there he'd biopsy my liver. When I went for follow up he said my liver looked really bad and he didn't see me living past 60 if I didn't lose weight. I'm 49 and was 48 then. He recommended surgery. He was very concerned and compassionate and just the way he said it really impacted me. So I made an appointment to see a bariatric surgeon that day. I had to pay out of pocket for the surgery, but it was worth every penny. My liver enzymes were close to normal last time I had them done.

    Hello and welcome!!!!!!!
Have been actively trying to lose weight for the last decade with the help of my primary doc and endocrinoligist (who my primary doc sent me to after he and I tried just about everything for me to lose weight and nothing was working). Anyway, my endocrinolgist finally figured out I had Insulin Resistance (put me on metformin for that) plus PCOS and of the two make it extremely hard to lose. You constantly, actively always need to be trying to lose otherwise it seems you just steadily gain.
Over the years both docs had me log food, log the gym attendance, try medication, various diets, etc. Nothing worked. I think the most I ever lost was 30-40 lbs and that was on Keto but then I slacked and eventually and fell back into bad habits and like a year later, gained almost all of it back again. The 40lb loss wasn't enough anyway, as I'm over 300lbs and have been for over a decade.
I also have high BP, crap cholesterol, and was teetering on the border of becoming a type 2 diabetic. Sadly, during the pre testing phase for weight loss surgery we found that I am now indeed type 2. Something I wanted to avoid and was hoping to not get before surgery.
So here we are, surgery is 2 days away and I'm hoping like hell it helps me lower my BP and ditch the type 2 and improve my cholesterol.

"Almost everyone." I might even just go with "many".
I had open RNY so I was cut from stem to stern, had a drain for 10 days after. I was in the hospital for 3 days with a bed that was the devil. I sat in the guest chair most of the time. Because of the staples and drain every movement was a new experience in pain. Eating was nearly impossible.
I never regretted my choice for an instant.
