  1. well honestly i can barely remember if i was in pain or not. so i take that as i didn't have much pain. my only problem was that i had to sleep sitting up onmy couch for maybe 8 days. there was some pain in my sholder. but it was tolerable. good luck!!!!!!!!!!! and congrats on your new life!!!!!!!!
  2. i am a slow looser as well. i really didn't start loosing until i got some really good restriction and that wasn't until maybe 3-4 months after surgery. Have you gotten any fills? often you won't really start loosing weight until you get some restriction. .
  3. hey there i wanna be skinny. i would suggest you go see a doctor. i am a nurse and in school i was never told anything about bumps that can appear after you loose weight. again i am NOT a doctor so don't take my word for it. it might be nothing it might be something. But i do urge you to please please see your doctor.
  4. You most likely won't feel any restriction until you have had a few fills. i know it took me 3 fills before i felt rectsriction. Good luck!
  5. my doctor never really asked me my goal weight. but my goal weigh is 135-140 so i can join the reserves. that would put me at a normal BMI .
  6. this is whats known as bandster hell. it's when your suposed to be only eating mushies or liquids but can and want to eat solids. BUT DON"T these first few weeks are about healing. if you don't lay off the solids and give your band time to heal it could mean a band slip later on. so for now stick to the post op diet you have been given. you have no restriction yet so you will be hungry. it might take up to 3 fills before you ever feel any restriction at all. hang in there!!!
  7. my goal is to meet the army height weight requirement. i want to join the reserves and be in the nurse corps. i have about 55 more pounds to go.
  8. i agree with crzytchr. stick to liquids for 24 hours then see how it goes.
  9. OMG yes! after i eat at night sometimes the noises keep me up! lol
  10. well i think that the fact that you have diabetes can only work in your favor. good luck and i hope it works out. let us know when you find out.
  11. sometimes after i eat my esophagus does seem to be making some "growling" noises. sometimes it's when something is stuck, after i eat, or right before i PB (yuck). sometimes the noises are so insane i am embarrassed to eat near anyone!!
  12. GOOD LUCK ALL!!!!! this is just the begining of a whole new you.
  13. hey there. i don't have your insurance i just wanted to say good luck!!! hope you get your approval soon!!!!
  14. hmm i don't understand why your doctor won't give you another fill? are they done under fluroscope? i mean whats the point of the surgery if the band isn't giving you any restriction.
  15. welcome to all the newbies!!! hey apple did you have your surgery with new dimensions. i had my surgery there with dr duperier. i believe he works with your doctor as well. well hope you have a fast recovery.
  16. From my understanding it is kinda dangerous to have a band thats too tight. it could promote band slippage or band erosion. are you vomitting at all when you eat? call your doctor and see what he says.
  17. well i am wondering what you are eating post op. i was on an all liquid diet for 8 weeks post op. thats not to say i didn't cheat some buti did keep it to liquids at least the first 2 weeks.
  18. so sorry about all your set backs. it sounds like it's been a long weary road. but you've come this far and hopefully you will have better days ahead.
  19. congrats on all the weight you've lost! this is an amazing sight where you can find all sorts of good info.
  20. you know my doctor doesn't do the whole protein shake thing. i was never told i needed to take in any extra protein. can you tell me why you are using protein shakes?
  21. my fills are always done under fluro and believe me they will have no problem getting to your port once they do that. also try not to get so discouraged because you still may not get restriction after this fill either. i know i am just now getting restriction after many fills and 1 unfill.
  22. well i believe it's when you have the perfect fill amount in your band. you have just enough so you are loosing weight while also not having any problems with the band being to tight.
  23. i am a LVN and currently in school to become an RN.
