  1. well i think it's all about respect. a man needs to respect a women's choice not to have to have that sh** pop up on the screen when she uses the computer. and for many men it turns into something they can't control. a man can have a stack of playboys and not have the constant need to look at them everytime his wife is gone. but it seems that's how it is with internet porn. it's addictive!!!
  2. congratz on your surgery date!!!!
  3. well i guess it depends on if your going to have an overnight stay or not. i was in at 7:00 am and home by 3:00 pm. i would suggest a zip up sweater or jacket. that way when you dress to go home you don't have to mess with getting a shirt over your head. also a nice comfy pair of pants with drawstrings or elastic waist. Chapstick. your lips might be dry when you wake up. there might be a post some where on this sight that has a list of things to bring. good luck!!!
  4. hello there! well welcome and hope your doing well after your surgery. this site is great for motivation and for answers to any questions you may have.
  5. congrats!!! it's gonna be the start of a whole new way of life and the start of a skinnier healthier you!
  6. of course you should call your doctor but also go to an all liquid diet. it could just be swelling and you might need to give it time for the irritation and swelling to go down.
  7. way to goooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! congrats!!!!!!!
  8. well one thing you have to remember is that not everyone will loose weight super fast. i bounced back real fast after surgery and was able to eat almost anything i wanted for some time. i am just now starting to really feel the band restricting me.
  9. that is a question that has no specific answer. every person has a differrent "sweet spot". the "sweet spot" if when your band is full just right. i had surgery 8-11-08 and still in the process of getting fills. i think i have had 5 with 1 unfill.
  10. i have humana ppo and i was approved. i had to do a 3 month preop diet and exercise program. i was covered 100% except for my deductable and some small doctors fees. i paid 1500 out of pocket
  11. I was not expecting to get my first fill at my first post op appt:blink:. I told him i could eat just about anything w/o restriction so he asked if i wanted a fill and i said "heck yeah". 4 cc's in my 9 cc realize band. It did hurt when i got my fill but he said it was b/c my stomach was still tender from the surgery and that it shouldn't hurt as much next time. No problems with my liquids as of now. Very happy and excited to go get this show on the road.
  12. well i think the key is to let them know as soon as possible and you don't have to tell them what the appt is for. For all they know it's for something like dialysis... unless you already told them what it's for but either way they should be understanding. Tell them u will bring a doctor's note.
  13. Maribelle- I got to the Doctor on thurs and will let you know what he says as far as if it's possible to stretch out the pouch right after surgery.
  14. well i try to keep it to mushies. refried beans, mashed potatoes, andi even ate some of a roll and salad. i chewd those up till they were like a mush though and i know i just need to get back on track with the iquids. But i wonder if i have damaged my band or streched my pouch. oh i also had some chilie from wendy's but again i ched it up to a mush.
  15. I had surgery aug 11th and everything is going good except i have my old appitite back with almost no restriction. So at this point is it even possible to strectch out my pouch if i have no restriction. i feel like at this point i don' t even have a pouch because i have no restriction. So i guess my question is does just the band create a pouch on its own or is it loose around my stomach? Sorry if this is confusing any information is appreciated
  16. Good luck at your seminar and post any questions you might have here. You will find out some much information.
  17. CONGRATS!!! and GOOD FOR YOU!!! thats what this whole process is about.... a new you. Hope i will get there someday !! :cursing:
  18. yeah same here i have kept what i did eat to the mushies. refried beans and such. except i did eat very very small pieces of some french fries :cursing: i know i know will power! WILL POWER
  19. i would love to know also i kinda have had eaten some things i shouldn't either. No probs afterwords. I am also VEEERRRRRRRYYYYYYYY hungry :cursing:
  20. i had my surgery on the 11th and i am still on just clear liquids but i have my regular appitite back. It's very hard. i see the doc on the 28th and will ask if i can go to mushies early. I AM STARVING!!!
  21. most importantly don't beat yorself up! It's called life.... and it's going to happen. What you have to do it just leave the past behind you. You can't change the past so focus on what you can do now. You are still coming out with a weight loss and i know you can do it. The first step is to meet with a new doctor and go from there. Good luck !
  22. I had my surgery on monday and was surprised as to how painful it was. I also read those entries that people said they were fine the next day and only needed one dose of medication. I am 25 with no other health issues than being obese. I was in pain and in and out of sleep due to my pain medicine that i took as often as i could. I would not rely on anyone's personal experience because you never know how you will react. I am not saying that you can't get through this in your camper but just don't assume your recovery will be best case senarion. I don't mean this post to scare you but just so that you are aware everyone's post op experience wasn't so easy and pain free. Good luck
  23. believe me you will be nervous until the minute you go under. and even when you wake up you migh feel like you can't believe what you just did. But those are all normal feeling. I just got banded on Aug 11th and i felt all those things. But i can say it is pretty easy to keep to the all liquids diet. I'm really not that hungry and when i do get hungry i get a Protein shake and that feels me up. Good luck and my words of advice are to take your pain pills whenever you can. They will make recovery much much better. Also plan on sleeping in a non laying down posistion for at least 5-7 days. Agian GOOD LUCK! i know you will be just fine!!! :mad2:
  24. Most my pain if not all comes from the port site. Are you still taking your pain meds? i am just for my port pain. i also think people expect to be pain free and healed very fast b/c it is a laproscopic surgery but i say give yourself at least 2 weeks before feeling 100&. Because, laprocopic or not we still had a major surgery with a foreign object now placed in our body. Give youself time to heal.
  25. ok.. willtry... thanks
