oops...i copied that from yesterday....lol feeling better today, alot of spasms in center of my chest. they gave me medicine for the spasms. dr said this goes along with it. ( surgery )

hi everyone. i was banded Aug. 4th. I just got home from being in the hospital all day. i just want to warn you.....sip..sip..sip all day. i got myself dehydrated, i was having dry heaves soooo bad for 3 days, so very sick at my stomach. went to drs office yesterday and he deflated my band gave me a shot for nausea, this morning at 4am...dry heaves again. was in emergency room all day, given 2 bags of iv, and a cat scan. the good news is my band is ok. i will always have my Water, Protein drink in hand. i'm sure you all know to do this, just wanted to warn you. Thanks Kristen, I feel so much better now, still have the spasms between my breast, dr said that goes along with the surgery, they gave me some medicine yesterday to control that. I haven't had any gas pains, lol..just everything else.

Yes, I do drink coffee. They didn't tell me to give that up, only sodas. Here it is 5:37 am, been up most of night unable to sleep. Didn't know it was the hydrogodon ( sp) not taking that anymore. I think my headaches are from not eating. I weighted a few min ago, I lost 4 lbs since yesterday. I sipped on applesauce, tomato soup, and slim fast on and off yesterday. I was wondering if its ok for us to chew our daily vitamin while I'm healing? Calling Dr. today, I have a list of questions.

I'm having headaches bad everyday. My pain medicine is liquid hydracodone. I thought maybe the headaches was from not eating.

4 days since surgery and i'm not hungry either. i have felt pretty good until today and this bad pain between my breast ( breast bone ) hurts so bad. Also...running low grade fever last night and this evening. I'm confused on how much shakes to drink at once...4 oz? This pain I'm having, some gal told me it could be that my band it telling me to take it easy. I just sip very little and take time between sips. All day I have had little bit of tomato soup diluted with water, small almount of slim fast low carb and applesause mixed with apple juice. I'm not doing well with my protein. I have the whey protein bullets, tomorrow i will mix them with my crystal light. Anyone else have this pain. I have no belching or hickups. just pain

Today is my 4th day after surgery. Felt great until today. I have horrible pain between my breasts. It will appear, then go away. On and off. Is this the horrible gas pain????? I hate it.

How are you getting your protein a day?

I'm using the Whey Protein bullets. I have the fruit punch flavor. I get a Water bottle and mix it with my crystal light, takes great. I use a sippy cup to make sure I get small sips.

Don't worry, the surgery is a piece of cake. I was banded Monday ( Aug. 4th. ) Just make sure you have your liquid vicodin fillled before you get home. The incisions can be a little painful when you get up and down, my vicodin controls that pain. Good Luck on Friday.

S The Sippy Cup that I'm using has a spout. It doesn't leak, so I have to suck it out. very small amount which is great. The cream for nausea was a prescription from the Dr. that and my liquid vicodin. Ask your Dr. its great !! Don't be nervous about surgery, nothing to it !! It's 2:30 pm here, still nothing to eat all day except Isopure, Jello and I'm not hungry at all.

:thumbup::biggrin:Hi everyone !! I had my surgery yesterday. All went well, and I am feeling great. NO gas pains for me yet. The only time I am sore is when I get up from laying down, or trying to turn over. I had a little upset stomach last night, so now I am keeping that cream for nausea on my wrist. Had a headache this morning, and still feel groggy. Overall, this surgery is a piece of cake. :thumbup: The great news is I am not hungry at all. Normally this time every morning I am starving. Been sipping out of my grandbabys sippy cup. It works great, allowing me to sip the amount I should and not over sip. Good Luck to everyone that will be banded this month, you're gonna loveeeeeeeee it!!!

When is your surgery date and ticker? I have seen you post alot, have you already had surgery?

My husband is retired Air Force. My blood pressure started getting very high the last part of April. My husband sent for a list of Dr's that take Champus Ins. My first appt. was with Dr Smith May 7th, I got Champus approval on May 14th. The Drs office took care of contacting Ins. and getting it approved. My surgery date is in 2 days ( Aug 4th). I have Champus Standard Ins....not Tricare.

I love the Low Carb Slim Fast Chocolate. Make sure its Low Carb.

I bought the Protein bullets, I like them. I bought the fruit punch flavor, not using them yet, waiting until after Surgery on Monday. My pre-op diet isn't a liquid diet. ( whew ) I can eat 3 meals a day, and I've lost 12 lbs so far since July 21st. Its a Low Carb, High Protein. Hang in there on your diet, it will be worth it.
