I’m tomorrow as well. I just got the call to be there at 9 am!! Like you my boys are going all out for food and it’s so tempting-especially when the nurse was surprised I’m on a liquid diet and said I could eat anything up until 11. Talk about temptation. I won’t do it though! Good luck tomorrow!!

Oh you are lucky! I have had to be on just Clears today (before I didn't do liquids just had to do low cal). I feel so weak and shaky. Guess its good I'm going in practically the middle of the night!

Had my surgery this morning at 9 am and it’s been a bit challenging with the pain but I’m managing, thankfully no nausea or vomiting at all! I’ve had broth, apple juice and Jello so far but at first it was nothing but ice chips. Most importantly I’ve been walking a lot and it really has been helping. Just need some assistance getting in and out of bed.

Looking for other May 2021 folks to share the journey with! I'm scheduled for May 5th and start my liquid diet in just a few days. Anyone else on/around the same time? What kind of pre-op diet do you have? I admit I'm super nervous about how I'm going to manage the next couple of weeks and keep up my energy at work.

Awesome! I am not nervous but so ready to be on the other side. I am not sure if I have lost any weight but have been on the "full liquid" diet religiously for the past week. Tomorrow I will start the clear liquid so it will be a small adjustment. I have found the Premier Protein Water is a great clear source of Protein - I am not a huge fan of shakes. Do you have a brand of shakes/protein water that you like better than others? It is nice to connect with someone who will be tackling surgery the same day as I will!

Doing okay. Started on very small portions of well-whipped, moist and mushy solid foods. Causing some frothing, meaning I need to slow down!

Just got all the IV’s about to roll away to the OR😳

My heart goes out to everyone who has to travel for surgery. I just got lucky and have a bariatric hospital less than 10 minutes from my house. You should feel proud of going through all that travel entails when you’re recovering. I’m very impressed. I hope your dog is okay as well.

Mine is at 2pm so my anxiety is high lol..

Just got scheduled for May 18th... same day as my daughter's birthday! Yay May Sleeves!

first of all, the chances of you dying are 0.3%, which means there's a 99.7% chance you'll sail through just fine. And you will. Complications aren't that common and most of them are minor and "fixable". These surgeries have come a long way from where they were 20 or 30 years ago...
I'm a foodie. Yes - there are a few months after surgery when you're pretty restricted (esp the first few weeks), but eventually you'll be free to eat what you do now (unless you develop some intolerances, which some of us do), but in smaller portions.
I can't eat super high-fat meals anymore - or a ton of sugar at one sitting (both make me feel queasy - and sometimes I'll get sick) - but other than that...???

Soooooooo it’s May 18 surgery day. I’m so nervous and can’t sleep. Pre op weight loss 28lb

Well, I was scheduled to have my Gastric Sleeve and abnormal hernia repaired in May 12th, but was cancelled due to the anethatist calling in sick ( his father past away) and my doctor didn't want to use any of his back up one's due to the complex surgery.
So, I have been rescheduled for tomorrow... I've been on the liquid diet for 3 weeks now. I've actually lost 5 kilos which isn't too bad.

My surgery is tomorrow, May 18th. Just had my covid test 2 days a go and they made no recommendations at all. Just "Good Luck!"

Doing great. I had surgery on 5/12 and I have had no problems at all. We flew home Friday and I felt so good Saturday that I spent 2 hours on the tractor.
Everyone at Blossom was extremely nice and accommidating. I know some folks may have a different experience with the pain but I havent had any. I am back at my office today working.

I'm 5' 1" and started with a BMI of 47 at 250 pounds. I now weigh about 121 with a BMI of 23. You can see my "Before and After" pictures here:
