  1. I have a collarbone. Well, 2 of them. 😊
  2. So, when I rest my elbow on something it hurts bc there's no cushion left. When I lie in bed my ankles and knees hurt because the bones knock together. No complaints here though!

I am eating the Good Culture low-fat cottage cheese. It’s very good IMO.

    Any March Surgeries?

I was in a the same spot at 5 weeks post op. I started counting from the week before when I had only liquid protein drinks. I’ve lost a total of 33 lbs since March 15. Surgery was on March 22 nd. My beginning BMI was 35.6. I’ve been following the plan to a T. I have hit a stall this week but I am going to “trust the process”. I’ll keep doing what I have been and I know I’ll continue to lose.

    I’m so weak!!!

Thank you all for the suggestions. I’m going to increase my calories as much as possible. I have a super active job and with such little energy it’s going to be very difficult to get through the day.

    I’m so weak!!!

Is this normal? I am 4 weeks and 2 days post op sleeve. I am consuming 60-80 gm protein and drinking 64 oz fluid every day. My calorie intake is 400-600 per day. I am supposed to be at least walking for exercise. I do about half the time but I am so weak. I get lightheaded and nauseous frequently. I am just too weak to do anything. When will this end? I want to feel alive again.

    Lap-Band Experience

I just want to share my experience with the Lap-Band. I had it put in in 2014 and removed in 2019. I had horrendous reflux, I was constantly clearing my throat, and I gained back almost every pound I initially lost. I had it filled, completely emptied to “start fresh” and give my esophagus a break from constant vomiting, and then filled again. My Bariatric surgeon told me how unusual it was for someone to return for a fill after 4 years with the band. What he did not tell me was at that point HE knew, as well as the rest of the Bariatric community, that the Lap-Band had been considered a medical failure. Very few surgeons will put them in. I did some research, figured the truth out for myself, and went to see a new Bariatric surgeon to remove it. Initially I felt like I failed the lap-band but now I feel it’s more likely that the Lap-Band failed me. I’m very happy some have had great success with theirs. I do believe it works for some. To those who have had bad experience with the band, it’s not your fault. Best of luck to all.

    Any March Surgeries?

I almost said the same thing about regretting my decision. Week 2 and 3 were very difficult. I had complications I did not expect. To make things worse, I did everything I was told to do and I STILL had complications. I too ended up in the ER after surgery. In general I think preparing us more for the potential complications and even the likelihood of needing continued IVF and oxygen would have been appropriate. I have very few comorbidities which is why I was so surprised when I needed to go home on oxygen from the hospital. Despite the complications and a terrible recovery I am glad I went through with it. I know the lifelong benefits of losing this weight will add quality to my life. I hope you are feeling better. Hang in there. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

    NSAIDs and back pain

I also have chronic back pain and was on Mobic and muscle relaxers before surgery. I had to stop the Mobic (an NSAID) 2 weeks prior to surgery. I was terrified but at least I could still take Tylenol arthritis. I chose to get WLS because I still have to work another 20 years as a healthcare worker and I couldn't see my back holding out for that long. There were other reasons as well but that was a big motivator. I know my weight loss has already helped and it's only been since March 22nd. According to my doc I am never to take NSAIDS again. However, I did get a post-op Pneumonia and a pleural effusion which resulted in excruciating pleurisy pain. The ONLY thing that helped was when I added in Motrin. My doc allowed it for a few days. So, I think as long as you take a PPI (Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, etc..) while taking an NSAID, there will be times when NSAIDS will be ok. But of course ask your doc first.
