Alright today is the day- one year ago today I was sleeved! It has been an incredible year. I weigh less than I’ve lost now. I am a normal weight, I run and row every day, I am not embarrassed of my pictures anymore. I have zero regrets about this surgery. It has literally changed the course of my life, and I’m happier than I ever thought I’d be.

My First NSV. I went to the hairdressers at 50 pounds lighter and thought she had bought new chairs because I had so much room in them. Deep joy

Thank you [emoji3590]. It's an amazing feeling. I felt like a failure as a mom so many times because there were things I couldn't do with him. I tried by best but that's just not good enough when you weigh almost 400 pounds. I am 50 and feel like a kid again myself! I'm so thankful.
Congratulations on being able to play catch with your son and outdo him! [emoji23]

I’m so happy for you I wanted to cry! I have a seven year old and feel the same way about doing things with him. He told me it’s not fun to play catch with me anymore since now I’m fast and can catch him. I love capturing him and smothering him with kisses!

Best. One. Ever. It snowed here in the St. Louis area, and I have always loved snow but haven't been able to play in it for years because of my weight. My 11 year old son and I just came inside from playing in the snow and sledding and I went up and down our hill so many times to sled and wasn't winded AT ALL. This is the first time in my son's life that I've been able to get out there and keep up with him in the snow and this and this alone is worth every penny I paid for my surgery!!! [emoji16]

Been a while since I checked in. A friend of mine said, "You know, if you do a French tuck*, you can show off those belt buckles of yours. You're slim enough now."
I am not convinced this is the style for me (feels like I wasn't paying attention after pulling my pants up and accidentally buttoned them around my shirt), but damn if it didn't feel nice to actually be able to do it. So here I am, another almost 40 lbs. down, 39 to go. Three quarters of the way to goal.

    * French tuck - you tuck in the front but not the back. I know no French people who do this, but maybe it's named after Tan France instead of France France.

Y'all! I finally cracked the 100s!!! Barely, but I did it!!! I might have been aided by a cold, and general winter malaise, but I did it!!! It might not have been as quickly as I'd hoped, but I DID IT!! I have not been this weight since 16 or 17 years old!? Just feeling super grateful for this tool and the progress is has helped me achieve.

Hello all! I had the SADI-S on July 24, 2020. I weighed 393 pounds at my highest and 368 on the day of surgery. I am so excited because today I finally made it to onederland! When I started out I was hoping to get at least down to 200 pounds. I am so happy to be officially under that number now and I hope to go even lower. My weight has slowed down a lot in the last few months and sometimes it's hard to stay motivated but I am not giving up! My wonderful, supportive husband gave me the shirt I'm wearing in this pic to Celebrate. It came last week and he wouldn't let me open it and I thought it was something for the anniversary of the day we met, which also happens to be 18 years ago today. I was so surprised by the shirt.
Anyway. I just wanted to share because I am so excited and had to tell someone who understands.

So glad to hear that you have the support of your siblings. To be honest, one person in your corner can be all you really need. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and keep us posted on your journey.

    This.
Sorry but the flags are SO red. Abusive, manipulative and controlling. No rational person threatens they'll lose their mind and go to a psychiatric ward over someone trying to fix a health issue. OR threatening to sue the surgeon for someone else's procedure they wanted. This is the abuser's version of a monkey flinging s**t at the walls.
Every single thing the OP says they've said screams control issues. Sorry OP, but as someone else said, find the support here. And don't let your family control you.

Thank you all for the responses. To answer some of the questions I've received: I'm not a minor, I'm in my twenties. I originally didn't want to tell anyone I was getting this procedure done because I had a sinking feeling this would become the result and I was right. I went against my better judgment and listened to someone who suggested that it would be best to tell them. However, I feel so much better about the whole situation now that I've posted the struggles I've been having. I'm glad I have support here. I also now have support from my siblings and it's been extremely helpful. I truly questioned my sanity and now I've found solace within my conviction.

    UPDATE:
So as per my Nutritionists suggestions that I listed above in my last post, for the last 3 weeks I've been strict with logging my daily food intake, keeping my Protein AT LEAST 60-70 grams a day and my carbs around 50 and my calories around 800. I've also been trying to keep my Water intake up.
In the beginning I was unsure of what exercises I was gonna do. I was trying to think of things that would work my entire body, help build muscle (esp. in my legs and arms), but also wanted to do cardio. Combining all that was also a suggestion of my nutritionist. She didn't want me just doing cardio.
Last week I made sure to do the treadmill and/or exercise bike several times a week. I also contacted a trainer that I saw online and asked for some advice based on my situation and he in turn sent me some info and suggestions that he said he has all his clients start off with regardless of their abilities. So this week I started that program.
It consists of 3 days (Mon, Wed, Fri) of weights and in the first week and one day of cardio for 25 mins. The reps and sets stays the same for the weights for the 4 weeks, but the cardio is slightly increased as the weeks go on. By week two I will be up to 2 days of cardio for 30 mins. But to be honest, I plan on doing the cardio on the two off days from the weights starting in the first week. Maybe more. I've also been tossing in some work with weight bands.
Anyway, prior to all of this I was consistently weighing in between 246 and 248. Despite having gotten down to 241.2 on Oct. 25th. So since sticking to this I did get down to 239.4 on Dec. 19th. HOWEVER, I have been consistently weighing in each week since, between 240 and 241. So, the gap from my lowest weigh in is at least a lil closer than what it was doing before. But still not sure why I'm not actively just losing still when I have at least 50-60 more pounds to go! My nutritionist said she wanted to see me if things didn't improve after a few weeks so I'm unsure as to whether I wait it out a lil longer or contact her now. I may wait since I just this week finally got some sort of exercise program going. The first two weeks after talking to her I did not so I wanna give it some time.
Oh and, last month when I checked my inches on Dec 4th, I had only lost .25 since the previous month. That was it!!! Well yesterday when I checked my inches I had lost 3.7 more (two of which were from my stomach and breast)!!! So, maybe things are starting to go in the right direction again and I should give it a little more time. I am hopeful and sticking to the plan. Guess we'll see.

I went bowling with my husband today and we did warmup and three games and I wasn’t tired at all. We used to do league and that wasn’t too bad because there are so many people between so you get to rest but when just he and I would go in the past I would get wiped out and sometimes had to let him finish my last game for me. Today I finished all three and could have done more.

Hi there, I don’t have exactly what you are looking for but have some thoughts about confidence. I have just scheduled a few consults and am >300 lbs and have continued to date. Not everyone is interested in me. That’s fine and I don’t let that stop me. Therapy has gotten me to a place where I see myself as strong and confident despite my imperfections
I found reading Brene Brown’s books or watching some of her Ted talks on the power of vulnerability, shame, and the power of imperfection very useful.
Now there is weight/size but after surgery there may be extra skin, stretch marks, and even regain so my one piece of advice is to try to think of all of those physical “flaws” as battle scars from fighting a disease that not everyone has to deal with.
If people you date don’t give you the respect you deserve then screw them. You are strong in your imperfection and deserve better.

I have finally returned to ONEderland!!! I have not been here since the year 2000! I am so happy that I have made it back, now on toward the next milestone...maybe size 14 or 160 pounds?
I am so grateful that this surgery has helped me get on a healthier path. It hasn't been perfect or easy, but it is working.
Wishing all a Happy New Year & successful weightloss or maintenance goals!😁

Aah, yes. Commonly known as bony butt syndrome. I eventually had bony shoulders, elbows, wrists, hip, knees, ankles, … Any joint that you put pressure on. Used to wake every 90mins or so because of the shoulder, knee & ankle pain (I’m a side sleeper). Glad to say this does improve considerably - must develop some callouses on the non padded joints over time.
