The pureed diet was the hardest for me. I was hungry 24/7 and would even dream about food. I felt like I was going insane. What helped me is still following my diet, talking to my family about the struggles, and keeping myself busy. Just keep reminding yourself this struggle is not forever and focus on the end result. I am finally pain free!! My NP told me it is normal to have this much pain due to the suture they do with your stomach muscle. She said once it is dissolved the pain will go away instantly. I had my bypass on 03.17.21. The pain has been intense. It was manageable the first couple weeks home but seems to be worse now. It is getting to the point that walking to the bathroom or making something to drink is painful. I feel like I am being stabbed. I am still on pureed foods for another couple weeks. I have been very careful and would have thought the pain would be less. Very frustrating since I am the type of person who is always on the go. Anyone else have this issue?
