  1. My surgery date just got moved up from the 5th of April to March 31st, so I JUST squeak into March! Any tips on how to prepare/practice for getting fluids in post op?
  2. Hi @tabba29! I got a call from my surgeon this afternoon asking if I wanted to move up my surgery up to the 31st, because they had a reschedule. I was a bit *GULP*. But I said yes! I’m having a VSG, and I’ve got a week of Optifast (and veggies, thank goodness) then 2 days of clear fluids. I’ve been doing a few things to try and prepare my *brain* (more than my body, really). Like: Practicing separating eating and drinking, timing my chewing with the Baritastic app, and using an app called Recovery Record to log my food and my feelings and impulses about food. I’ve got a nutritional therapist appointment lined up for pre and post op. I’ve also been testing out ways to make the optifast more palatable (vanilla protein powder made up with Rooibos Chai is YUM!) and stocking up on Premier Protein, jello and pudding for post op. And I bought the dry mouth spray that everyone recommends! I’m excited and nervous but still really deep-down confident about my decision to have surgery.
  3. Me too! Well, April 5th, but close! How are you feeling? And how are your *feelings*? And what’s your pre-op like? And ALL THE questions! Also, HI!
  4. I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time. I don’t have any advice or good ideas, but I just wanted to say that I think this is *exactly* the place to share. And that there is a person thinking about you, and wishing good things and a peaceful heart for you.
