  1. I am just starting to loose weight at a good rate. I want to do my best to prevent the excess skin after weight loss. Is there any lotions that will help or any other ideas. Yesterday I did buy bio-oil to help with the scars and I was thinking it also could help with the skin, however, its expensive and I don't want to waist it.
  2. Yes, I did liquids for the 24-48 hours after the fill. I had my last fill on Tuesday. I did good Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Friday is when I started to have problems. I had a really hard time this weekend also. My husband is starting to get upset with me because I am cooking all these foods and then I can't eat them. Saturday I made some shrimp Soup. Its just tomato juice, shrimp, onions, avocado and cilantro. Nope it wouldn't go down. I was able to eat some mac and cheese. Then last night I made chicken salad, and it came back up. Ok so the mac and cheese went down, so today I got macaroni salad and its going down hard. Its not coming back up yet but its going down hard. I also have been really gassy and constipated. I have been taking gas-x, milanta and stool softeners since Tuesday and its not getting better. I do not drink pop or through a straw. So I don't know what I am doing to become soo gassy. My nurse pract said that is probably why I'm pb'ing soo much is because of the gas. She told me to do liquids for 3 days but I am still gassy.
  3. I finally got the ham down. I know I chew good enough, I make sure of that, my food is pratically liquid form before it goes down. It sure seems that people have a lot harder times with more food than they state. eggs, Ham, Lettus, never heard anything about these foods and I have a hard time eating them. I just tried to eat Water mellon and couldn't.
  4. You can Cottage Cheese and a bit of lemon juice with one of the Hidden valley ranch dressing packing and blend it in a blend. Then use it as as a dip with veggies.
  5. Ok, I had surgery on Sept 4th. Since then I have went for 1 fill of 3cc and then next day unfill of 1cc, then almost a week later of .5cc (because I was still having a lot of PB's and a lot of food hurt as it went down). That was about 4 weeks ago. Last week I went back for check-up/fill and had .5 put back in. When I did go in for the fill the nurse practioner said that my lower stomach is full of gas. I have been taking gas-x and mylanta 3 times a day for the last 3 days. I can tell the gas is better, but I am still very burpy. Before the last .5 cc's I could still eat a lot and got hungry about couple hours after eating. Every once in a while I would have some PB's but not that much. Now with the .5cc's I'm back to PB'ing a lot and it hurts when I eat. For example I am eating ham and cheese right now. I was in a lot of pain and went to the bath room and PB'ed it all out. I am chewing the food really well, so I don't know what I am doing wrong. I feel that I am almost bulimic because I am PB'ing a lot. It also seems that I can only eat food that are not good for me. I am eating doritos right now and they go down fine. I know I shouldn't eat the doritos, but I have to have something to eat. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I get the hang of it?
  6. I had surgery on 9/4. I went for my 1st fill on 10/9. They put in 3cc's. They had me drink Water after that, and at the time I felt like it was not going down, but I was like it will be ok, its just my 1st fill. That night I threw up a lot. I was throwing up my own spit. I was miserable. I went back the next morning and they took out 1cc. Saturday I did good. No problems. Sunday, bad, I was having problems eating simple stuff. Mon and Tues still having problem, a lot of PB's. Wednesday, ok and then Thursday ate lunch and was in pain every time I took a bite. I gave in and went back to the dr and they took out another .5 cc. Now I feel like too much was taken out. I give up. Oh well, I like this feeling better than being in pain when I ate.
  7. RestlessMonkey, Yes the doctor had me drink Water before I left. It went down to the pouch, but it never went any further. I don't think I started getting sick until about 2/3 hours later. He asked me if it felt like it was stuck in the back of my throat and I said no. Even though I did kind of felt it, but I didn't think 3cc would do that or even happen on a 1st fill. I just thought that's how it was suppose to fill Flowers, Thanks for that comment, I thought I was crazy that 3cc made me like that. At first I thought there was something wrong with the band. But the nurse saw it today and its fine. That makes me feel better that I'm not the only one that can't handle 3cc's. lol
  8. I have a 10 cc band. The Allergen lap band.
  9. I had my 1st fill yesterday at 1:30pm. After the fill, I did feel uncomfortable and very gassy but nothing would move. I figured that it was normal. All afternoon I felt like I was going to get sick. When I got home I tried to eat a pop cycle and it hurt, like when stuff goes down hard. As the night went on I got worse. I couldn't I kept throwing up my spit. Every I swallowed, it hurt soo bad trying to go down. I didn't' want to call the doctor because I hoped that it would get better. Anyway I broke down this morning and went to the doctor. Yesterday I got 3cc and this morning they took out 1cc. So I feel better today. I'm just doing liquids today, but it still kind of goes down hard. I just tried Soup, it was pretty creaming, but it wouldn't go down. When I drink, it gurgles as it goes down which is really weird. I know my stomach is probably swollen so I hope it gets better.
  10. I had my surgery Sept 4th. At surgery I was right at 260/263. During the last 2 weeks I lost 5 pounds, down to 255. Then all of a sudden this week, no matter what I do, I keep gaining. I am back up to 259. I don't have my 1st fill until Oct 9th. How is everyone else doing? How is your weight loss going. I don't fill up very fast. I would say that I am eating only about 1/3 less than I did before the surgery. However, I am not eating anything between meals. I don't really get hungry. I am not eating any sweets. I have a slim fast for Breakfast. My other meals, I try to eat things not very fattening.
  11. I was also banded on 9/4. I'm doing good so far. Some days I'm starving and others days I'm fine. I am eating soft foods. The doctor told me to eat until I am full. I haven't felt full yet, but I am scared to eat more. I feel really that I am not eating much less than I did before. However, since we haven't had a fill yet, I would guess that this is normal. Like today I had a small pork chop, steamed cauliflower and baked veggies. I would say it would be enough to fill a plate in between a saucer and a regular size plate. I ate about 2 hours ago and I am already hungry. I am drinking Special k protein water now to help curve the hunger.
  12. Hi everyone. I had surgery 9/4 and I am doing good. No nausea or vomiting. The gas pains are more or less gone after day 6. I had my 1st followup last Friday and the doctor is allowing me to move up to soft foods. I was on a liquid diet day 1 to 5, the mushies for 2 weeks, then soft food for another 2 (I believe). Starting this Friday, I can eat anything. Has anyone been able to move on to regular foods this fast?
  13. My doctor said that I should wait a year. He said no reason behind it. Just to give you time to heal and adjust. However, he said that he has had patients get pregnant after 6 months and didn't have any problems.
  14. Hi everyone, I am from Kansas City and just scheduled my surgery for Sept 4th. We could have done it at the end of July, but I will be out of town then. So I opt for later to get me time to get back from vacation and start the pre-op diet. Can't wait. I started the process back in the end of February to get approval from insurance. Finished up the psy eval at the begining of June and just got approval yesterday.
