Hello, I just started Mounjaro!! I'm on Week 3 of 2.5mg and the appetite suppression is no joke! My doctor put me on this after stalling out at 80 pounds lost post op. Surgery March 2021, stopped losing March 2022 (but haven't gained).
I'd like to hear about anyone else's experience so far, the weight loss has been slow, but I'm hopefully because the scale is finally moving again!!

Lost 80 pounds in one year (March 2) Feels great, yet feel it should’ve been a lot more Started over 300. I can easily eat 1800 calories (is this normal?!). I see people that say they can’t eat more than 600-800 and that’s definitely not me. I need tips bc I’m only halfway there!

Congratulations on you’re achievement! Like you I can def eat over the 1,000 calories threshold easily. I’m about 3.5 months out and I try to eat between 1,100-1,300 calories a day- but this requires me to plan out all my bites and Snacks. (I try to have six small meals a day give or take) but for sure I could eat 1,500-1,800 easily. It can be a little frustrating seeing people who are a year out and still can’t eat that much but at the end of the day- every body is different and ya just gotta embrace the one you got. Remember to be kind to yourself and Celebrate everything you’ve done so far!

Right on girl! WHOO! Go you! Sidenote: It's hard for me to get the 1,200-1,500 calories needed. I could barely get to 900 calories right now.

Congratulations on your weight loss that is amazing! Celebrate that Queen because without the surgery you would mid have accomplished that on your own. And don’t compare yourself to others weight loss.

All you can do is evaluate your own habits, nutrient intake and your overall diet, if you feel you could have been more disciplined make those adjustments now and continue to enjoy your efforts you look great!

This is also very true for me. Sometimes I will have grilled chicken kebab in the week and find more weight has shifted. I think its described as the 'woosh' effect, something to do with your metabolism adjusting.

I had mind 3/9 and I have lost only 43 pounds. Some of us are just slower losers I think. Your non scale victories are great though!!

1000 calories from Protein & vegetables is the same as 1000 calories from pizza, burgers, fries, cake,… it’s just the protein & vegetables have better nutrients that contribute to a healthier you. Maybe on the day you had pizza or donuts, you consciously or sub consciously ate fewer calories. Who knows but I wouldn’t rely on that being a dependable or healthy way to lose weight or break a stall.
At 4 months out, you’re not very far along in understanding & managing your drive to eat. What is an occasional break could easily become a regular thing & you’ll be back to where you started: cravings, weight gain, etc. In time, when you have better strategies in place to manage your cravings (because they never go), you may be able to have the odd pizza or donut.
Stalls happen. They end too. Your body just needs to take a breath every now & again. You’re putting it through a lot of changes. When I stalled, I just kept to my program & I’d start to lose again. No cheating, no change to my activity or caloric intake & in a 1, 2 or 3 weeks, I’d be losing again.
    Good luck.

no need to trick it - and don't start down any slippery slopes. Letting bad habits sneak back in is what derails a lot of people's weight loss efforts. Stalls are a normal part of weight loss. I think it's your body just stopping to recalibrate once in awhile. Just stick to your plan and they'll eventually break and you'll be on your way again.

I know the common theory is carbs are the devil but our body needs some carbs. I've had pizza a few times and I often have a few pieces of baked or grilled potatoes.

Human bodies are mysteries! Maybe the greasy food made you poop which can make you weigh less, or maybe you drank more and released more Water, or maybe you were just "due" to lose some weight. I can say that weight loss is never a straight curve; it's a very bumpy staircase with lots of ups and downs - just make sure that the downs are more than the ups, and you can best do that by following your surgeon and dietition's plans most of the time. I have found that sometimes I need to eat a bit differently for a few days if I'm stalling (this is before surgery), either a bit more or a bit less, or do different exercises to get the scale to move if I'm in a stall.
