  1. Ever since my surgery approx. 6 months ago, my feet are so cold that they hurt. Especially my toes. No matter what I do, they won't get warm. I made a doc appt and went last week, she told me I have Reynard's Disease, and that it is common for bariatric patients. Has anyone else heard of this?

    I hate food....

I feel your pain. I could not eat, or drink for a month after surgery. It made me so nauseous. If I even took a sip of water, I was sick. My doc gave me a script for patches you wear behind your ear for nausea. It helped a lil bit. Please be careful though, I ended up in the hospital because I was so dehydrated. I had to go twice, and spend almost the whole day there getting IV's. The second month got a tiny bit better, after that it will get increasingly better. I thought it never would. Now I am 6 months post op, and I am doing so much better.

4 days post op and I’M STARVING!!!

Wow, I am 6 months post op, and I never feel hungry. I have to force myself to eat. Whatever you do, don't eat anything with sugar. I made that mistake and was so sick.

    Itchy hands and feet

I had this on my fingers. They were so itchy, I would scratch to death, and they would bleed sometimes. Finally I tried cortisone, and it only helped a little bit. It finally went away after about 2 months post op. I never asked the doc what it was.
  5. Hubby was craving pizza, and I was only 3 months post op. He ordered a small cheese, and I was able to eat just the cheese portion. 6 months post op, and I can only eat one piece of small cheese, and I am stuffed. I don't eat all the crust, just a few bites.

    Major Hair Loss

I am very close to my 6 month post op, and am losing so much hair. I actually measure it each time I wash it, which is every 4 days. I get anxiety on hair wash day, because I am so afraid of losing more. It currently measures out to be 4-5 grams of hair loss each time. I used to have beautiful long, thick, curly hair. Now it is short, thin, and not so curly anymore. It has broken off so much of the length, as well as getting thinner. I know I was told that some hair loss was normal, but this is actually scary. Is there anyone else out there who this has happened to, but can tell me that theirs grew back? If so, how long did it take?

    Water intake?

Hello, I am almost 6 months post op, and just wondering if everyone is still drinking the same amount of water we were told to in the beginning? I found that if I drank the 8 cups a day, I could not fit in as much protein as required. I am now down to drinking 5-6 cups a day. I do eat foods that contain water, such as watermelon, and cukes.
  8. I am almost in my 6th month of post surgery for the bypass. I have noticed that my bowel movements have changed a lot since before the surgery. I used to be constipated all the time. Now I barely eat anything, and I have to go. Sometimes even in the morning when I haven't eaten anything I have to go. Has this happened to anyone? It is to the point where I can't even leave my house, because I am afraid I am going to have an accident.

    1 week out

You can do it! Think positive and try to imagine what you will look/feel like once it is done. I was so scared also, but once it was over with I never regretted it. I had an awful 1st month, but everyone is different. Honestly, I wish I would have done it sooner.

    Major Hair Loss

I know it sounds funny but my hair was my pride and joy! I used to get compliments on a daily basis. Now I am so embarrassed by the way it looks. I actually cry when I wash it because it just comes out in clumps. I can not even wear it down anymore. It is all uneven. It looks awful. I am seriously thinking of buying a wig.

    Major Hair Loss

My nutritionist told me that none of that stuff works for us. I did start taking a Flaxseed supplement with my vitamin but have not seen any difference yet.

    Major Hair Loss

I am seriously thinking of cutting it really short until it starts to grow back. I had short hair before and loved it. It was so much easier to take care of.

    Pooping all the time now!

I wouldn't go for the exploratory either unless it was an emergency. I have a script for Ativan, but rarely use it as I haven't had a lot of panic attacks after surgery. Your comment re the Xanax makes me wonder if I should try taking it for that reason alone.

    Pooping all the time now!

Mine have been that way now for almost the entire 6 months. It is awful. Not only is it loose, but it stinks something awful. Mine comes out of no where also. I hope it gets better for us.

    Gas! Ugghhh just Gassyyyy!

The gas pain may be better, but the gas for me is unbelievable. I never used to be a gassy person, fart a lot. 6 months post op, I can not stop farting, and pooping. It is very embarrassing, even in front of my hubby. I hope it gets better.

    Pooping all the time now!

No, I don't eat any carbs. No artificial sweetener either? I even cut back on my water intake from 8 cups a day to 6 and its not helping.

    Pooping all the time now!

It is actually scary because I am afraid to leave the house. I go like 6-7 times a day, and it just comes out of no where. Sometimes even when I think I just have to pee, it surprises me with a poop. I even cut back on my water intake from 8 cups a day to only 6, and its not helping. I go to my 6 month checkup at the end of the month. I am wondering what they will tell me.

    Foamie Saturday night!

I couldn't even take any vitamins or supplements until the 4th month post op. They all made me feel very nauseous. I tried taking them on an empty stomach and then after I ate, and it did not make a difference. Maybe wait a few weeks and try it again. I just tried every month, and finally I was able to take them without feeling sick.
