LOL. Yes, we'll see. I get frustrated like everyone else, especially when vets are getting attacked for simply trying to offer common sense. But I'm pretty stubborn. And very used to repeating myself, as I'm a parent and a RN. LOL.

One thing I have seen in my short time here are lots of posts about eating stuff we shouldn't too early, while our sleeve is still healing. But I HAVEN'T seen posts titled, My surgeon opened me up again because I ate solid food". I suspect people are a little more circumspect about posting that kind of stuff.

I just got my date today! On December 15, I will be revising from lapband to RNY. I had to fight with my surgeon's office to get it sent in, but they did (surgeon himself helped nudge the office) and it was approved in 8 days. I'm so ready to start this new journey!

I legit have my own version like this that I sang to my students before I left for surgery. They knew I was on liquids, and I joked about them being good, or I might eat one of them. This makes me laugh! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

When your in laws have no clue of your real size. My father in law is 5'5" and 138, he wears 31" jeans. I wear 32's and I'm fairly certain that I could do his 31s. They bought me XL lounge pants that are literally 4 inches from my nipples. If i don't wear them this high im pretty sure that a gang member will think that I'm doing an initiation because the crotch goes to my knees. On the postive side I can unbutton the fly and reach DOWN to clean out any offending bellybutton lint. I'm fairly sure that they would have bought a size small or medium for him.

How far out are you? I'm on day 11, and most of the time, sex is the LAST thing on my mind. I did have one day, though, where I was feeling pretty randy, but my body would NOT have cooperated. Before surgery, I wanted it all the time...like a teenage boy. Lol. I'm sure it will come back in time.

I like to think there are people who just read and absorb, and don't get into the fray. I'm writing mostly for them. And from now on when this kind of post gets made, I'll link back to this one as my only comment and move along. LOL. sent from mobile device

@@theantichick Well said! Or well written anyway. I am quoting one line you wrote:
"They are not representative of most people, and should not be used as the example other people follow."
Remember, no one is completely useless. At the very least, they can serve as a bad example.

@theantichick My mom is an RN. Registered Nurses are some of the smartest, in-tune medical professionals. Maybe I'm a bit biased. thank you for saying this. Yes, our incisions are tiny. we can't see what's on the inside. I think your analogy of a baby's stomach is spot-on. All us recent sleevers, let's work hard to keep this investment in ourselves intact.
And I've said this before here on the forum...my dad died after a gastric bypass in 1982. THIS IS A SERIOUS SURGERY, Y'ALL. And sure, it was a different time, the tech is much better...but the danger is still there. My daddy never left the hospital. Everyday I succeed with this, I dedicate to him and his struggle with weight.

I'm a little confused... are those your before pictures? Or pics from a time when you were not obese? You don't look overweight enough to have the sleeve surgery if these are current. What is your current weight/BMI?
The relative short time I've been on this forum, I've noticed there have been quite a few people posting just trying to start trouble. I apologize if you aren't one of them.

@@Greensleevie I was thinking the same thing! Angelica you look great and don't look large enough to get sleeved. In the U.S. your BMI has to be at least 40 to have it done in most cases. I wish you the very best, but you look like what us sleevers would like to eventually obtain.

Post-op day 5. I can only drink 2 ozs of liquids at a time without pain, Jello in toddlers spoons only or it hurts. pills have to be crushed even though they are smaller than a baby aspirin and I have no hunger. It's crazy! I want to eat. I'm having a terrible time getting my Water and Protein in. Tomorrow. I'm setting a timer for every 10 minutes to drink something. It's so hard. Otherwise very little surgical pain.
