    Starting ADHD meds

Hi AJB. I have no advice for you, rather a question. I have suspected that I am the inattentive type ADHD for a long time. How did you get diagnosed? Any suggestions? Best of luck with online school and your novel!

    Coping with grief after WLS

I am so very sorry for your loss, Star Wars & Cupcakes. I had gastric sleeve surgery on November 30th and very tragically lost my younger brother and only sibling on April 12th. The grief can be unbearable and I often feel so much anxiety that I want to crawl out of my skin. So I decided to join a running (for me, walk/run) group 5 Weeks to 5K training. I did it so that I could release some of this painful anxiety, sleep better, and be around a supportive group of people in beautiful nature (lucky me I get to run near the ocean and in redwood forests). I even got my 70 year old mom to join it with me! In addition to that I walk with both of my parents as much as I can. We are heartbroken, our lives changed forever so suddenly, and the exercise, nature, and supportive group of people has been very therapeutic. (((HUGS))) Star Wars & Cupcakes, and thanks for starting this thread for other people to refer to in the future.

    OOTD

I just love seeing all of these photos of you beautiful and stylish people! 💜 Cheeseburgh, I am a 6th grade teacher and our school colors are navy and white. May I ask where you purchased your dresses? I'd like something navy (or navy and white) for the upcoming promotion ceremony. I haven't wore a dress in years!!! Thank you.

    I'm overweight!

Congratulations! I am so very happy for you! 💚
  5. Hello everyone. I am wondering, on average, when weight loss stopped after gastric sleeve surgery? Thank you.
  6. I had gastric sleeve on November 29th and have been the same weight for 3 weeks. Just want to either hear, Yes, that's normal, or if perhaps I need to reevaluate what I'm eating. Thanks!
  7. Hello everyone. On Tuesday, it will be 8 weeks since I had gastric sleeve surgery. I am having a long stall. It's been over two weeks where I keep gaining and losing the same 2 lbs. Is it normal to stall this long? Thank you.
  8. Oh my gosh. I just posted AGAIN about another 3 week stall! 🤪 I did a search and found my own post. Anyway, hearing I am again, in another 3 week stall.
  9. Hi everyone. Man, do I ever want oatmeal. I can't have it just yet, but when I do, does anyone know if the steel cut or rolled oat form is better for those of us with the sleeve? Oh, and any tips for adding protein powder to it? I'm thinking plain would be best, but how to mix it in?
  10. Sigh. As usual, everyone here is correct. The stall ended after three weeks. Just posting the update for other people who search stories about stalls.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

I should add, though, boy am I ever feeling more satiated between meals! And food tastes so good! I really am feeling much better overall.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

I haven't been keeping track of dates and weight, but I feel like a slow loser too. No surprise as I don't have a thyroid. I'm in my 5th week and hitting a stall. I was on the pre-op diet for a week before surgery and have lost a total of 28 lbs. I am so very happy because I can SEE and FEEL the difference, but the number of pounds and this current stall do kind of get me down a little bit.

    Driving?

I didn't take pain pills once I was home from the hospital, I had sleeve, by the way, but the reason that I couldn't drive is because the seat belt rubbed on my incisions. I drove about a week after surgery.

    Best broth?

Another vote for Unjury's chicken soup flavored protein powder. So yummy, savory, and satisfying. I think that you can only order it online, but it was a lifesaver for me during pre-op and post-op.

    Chocolate cravings!!!

Some suggestions: Premier Protein makes a chocolate peanut butter shake and it is so tasty! Like drinking a peanut butter cup. I make this hot chocolate (with Fairlife milk for protein). It tastes great! Once I can eat solids, I will be eating these when I have a sweet tooth. So chewy and sweet. I like the chewy chocolate chip in particular.
  16. Forgive me for so many posts, but I am concerned. Day 6 after surgery and I feel like I'm starving. I am so hungry. My stomach is growling. I've been having protein drinks, broth with protein, and pureed soups. I get full very quickly, but I am on three "meals" a day and am so hungry in between meals. Will this improve when I'm on purees? Solids? I also feel very weak and tire very easily. I did have both the sleeve and hiatal hernia.
  17. I'm updating here because I know that when I have a question, I search the forums looking for content similar to what I'm going through. My surgery was November 30th, which I think puts me in week 5, and although I can't just anything, I am definitely eating a lot more solid food and I have to say that I am way more satiated and full for much longer. So for anyone in the very early phases who might be feeling crazy hungry and discouraged, it's gets way better, very early on! Hang in there!

Almost 1 week out. Dumping not sure ??

I had diarrhea for a while, some of it uncontrollable, after surgery. Could it be that?

    Chicken broth presurgery

I was able to. I had to buy it online, but I added Unjury Chicken Soup broth to my warm broth. Broth was a lifesaver for me both pre and post op. Its warmth and comfort were more filling to me, esp. during this cold winter weather!
  20. Just thought I'd share a good recipe for the early stages (and beyond) that I made the other night. I skipped the lemon and mint and used sweet petit peas and it turned out so delish! Even my 7 year old loved it. Peas have a pretty good amount of protein too. Mashed Peas with Leeks Recipe

    First day liquid diet

Warm liquids. Broth and tea really helped me to feel fuller than cold/room temperature fluids.
  22. Warm broth helped me. I had to order it by mail, so this doesn't help you, but I added Unjury Chicken Soup protein powder to broth. Tea also helped. I found that warm fluids were more comforting and filling.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Yep. Same thing here with a stall. I am not counting my calories, but I have started to eat more than before. I was only able to eat 1/4 cup at a time and seem to be able to eat more now.

    cottage cheese

I'm so glad that you replied to this as all of your posts on the Food Before and After Photos give me hope and inspire me. I was also looking for some ways to snaz up cottage cheese, making it more savory. I will try your suggestions.

    Post-Op Hunger Pangs?

Hello. I cannot tell you when they subside, but I did/am experiencing the same thing (sleeve surgery 11/30/21). When I inquire about it, I am told that it might not be hunger pains, but it sure feels like it. I can tell you that once you can eat pureed/soft foods, you will feel fuller when you eat, but I still do get very hungry in between meals. It is getting slightly better.
