  1. outdoorgirl - I too felt that I had to tell my mum before the surgery but dreaded the lectutres - in the end I told her the night before - that way there was only time for one sleepless night of worry for her and now that I'm 14 days post op and okay (I don't tell her about the pain!) - she's fine about it. I think I'll be okay with other people knowing once it works but just in case i don't lose the weight i'm keeping quiet to most people.
  2. How are you doing now? I have been taking mega-hot baths to help with the cramps in my stomach and it does help. What's your news? Tidge
  3. Wow - thanks for the link leenerbups - I'm not alone!!! I was going to stay with fluids for another 2 weeks but it seems that you were a bit better with mushies - perhaps I'll pluck up the courage next week - is mash and gravy a good start do you think?

  6. I Was Banded 11 Days Ago And Have Been In Pain On And Off Ever Since With Terrible Stomach Ache And Breast Pain From My Armpit Down The Side Of My Left Breast. Is There Anyone Else Who Hasn't Found This A Breeze?
  7. Of course you will eat that meal again - when you lose all your weight and get an unfil you will eat any celebratory meal you choose - but too many of them and it's time for a fill. It will taste better when you're thin! TIDGE X
  8. Hey all - I'm feeling human again! Much better mentally and the port is sore but gets better every day. Gas is still very very painful behind left breast and in tummy but to be honest I havn't been out much and I am going to try and walk more from now on to help ease the gas (woe betide the person walking behind me - ha ha ). Met a lovely couple once from Idaho whilst travellng in central america, but I can't remember if we met in Belieze or Mexico. They made garage doors as I recall and are my only experience of - what do you call yourselves? Idahoians perhaps? Anyway, thanks for your support, I have found my way around the site more now but will certainly be popping in to visit you if that's okay! Regards, Tidge.
  9. Hi all - thanks for your support - I am feeling a lot better now 8 days post - op. To be honest I really still don't know how I will get to work on Tuesday though, I obviously recover slowly. Mentally however I am much better and the port pain eases each day - by far the worst pain now is GAS which builds up throughout thecday and as I type this it is really bad in my stomach - I am hoping that it will also get beter daily. Off to make some peppermint tea which seems to help. Another bandster posted that to ease wind one should place feet together whilst sitting, draw legs into chest and roll - I guess she must have reached her target weight, sounds impossible to me! ha ha.
  10. I had my op on Thursday and on friday they took all the dressings off and sprayed the stitches with some sealent stuff and sent me off to have a shower - they have remained without a dressing, I have mainly showered but had one bath this week and the stitches are healing beautifully.:Banane11: Diet:Told clear liquid for 3 days then liquid for a month but I have had some very mushed mushies and feel better for it!:woot: 6 days post op - 8lb loss. 12. how would you know if the port was oozy once scars healed tho?
  13. me too - it just has eased today - day 5. Also palpations but I think i'm just panicking.
  14. I am 4 days post op and taking in liquids and soups but as soon as I eat a soup it comes right out the other end - I had read that lots of people are constipated but I have the opposite problem and it's pretty immediate after eating a soup or puree - is this normal and should I be worried?

  16. Is it dangerous to PB? - how long do you wait for the food to pass thru or come up before you panic? Banded 3 days - lots 2 learn. Can you PB on purees or liquid? I don't know what is full up and what is surgery pain but I think I need to eat a little puree as I feel sick - will I know when it's enough?

  21. Thanks, it's been so good to say how I felt and a little understanding from a woman on the other side of the world has made me tearful - I will try to be positive and greatly value your support.Tidge, UK
  22. Hi Sorry I can't physically join you but I hope it's okay to join in online - I was banded on 4th May, its now the 7th and I am soo sore around my port and in my upper back - It seems that I have read so many people who were off shopping the next day and I can only just walk let alone bend! Please keep updated with your progress - will I ever feel normal again???TIDGE, LONDON,UK.
  23. Hi I was just banded 3 days ago and have been upset ever since, feeling that I've done something awful to myself - did anyone else have serious doubts AFTER surgery - will I ever feel normal again? My back is painful, I'm bloated and I havn't slept hardly at all for 2 nights, the stitched areas are painless and healing well but the port area is just so sore that I am still in a great deal of pain and others seem to be fine after only 48 hrs. Is this normal, did anyone else have pain and doubt but a happy ending? I feel that i discuss it much with my family as they were so agaqinst the band in the first place.:cry :help:
