    PCOS/Endometriosis

Hey. Sure it's absolutely ok with me. I'm 10 weeks out now and lost 33lbs. I'm losing slower than many others here but as far as its going downwards I'm happy. I have had my periods twice in last 2 months and a cycle of about 40 days. Which was not normal for me, not to forget. Plus they stopped by themselves, which never happened usually. Always had to take some hormone tablets to regulate or even stop the bleeding. The blood flow was very heavy though but hopefully it will settle down too. It's really working for me. There are certain times when I feel low and think things might not work out but then I embrace the situation try to work through it. Just as we do in normal situations [emoji18] Wish you all the best for your surgery and hope things work out for you too. Always here if you would like to hear more. Take care xx Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Apple cider vinegar

Thank you all for your comments. I have read more negative reviews than positive about ACV so changed my mind. Also I think too its too early to start on that. I will definitely speak to my team before starting it in future. xx Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Green smoothies

Is it safe to use flaxseed or chia seed at this stage? What about eating raw cucumber or fruits? I'm still afraid of adding those in my diet. Just started with half a banana in protein shake. I was thinking of adding protein powder to the green smoothie to keep the intake up. Thank you for your suggestions Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. Hi everyone. Just reading through several posts how people struggle to eat after WLS whereas I'm absolutely fine with everything. I'm 6 weeks out now and lost almost 26lbs since my highest weight. Now to the main point.. I read people eating 500- 600 cal a day. I count each and every calorie I take in and land between 800-1000 cal a day with 1.5 ltr fluids. I take 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. Without them I can't manage my 90g of protein daily. This is the amount my program suggests. Even if I would take protein shake only as 3 meals it will still make 600cal. How does a 500-600 cal a day meal plan look like? It would be really helpful if someone could share their plan. I had a stall at 3 weeks which lasted about 2 weeks. I wasn't eating much at that time and didn't have my 90g of protein. Since I have started to take the 90g of protein daily the scale has started to go down again. Plus I have lost more inches than weight on the scale. I feel guilty by reading all these 500cal comments and think I'm doing something wrong. Maybe I will not lose any more weight. Can anyone else relate to this? 8. Did you still lose weight as expected? I experience similar things as mentioned above and same thoughts that its not going to work for me. I'm stuck. Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I'm 5 weeks out of WLS now. I crave hot drinks nowadays. Don't want to drink milky drinks or tea with milk as it adds up to calories intake. So my question is if I can drink green tea and how many cups a day? Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. Hi. Thank you for the reply. I have updated my profile. Hope this will help others to understand better now. I just feel I can't coop with 600 cal a day. Thats jot enough for me. And also lack of energy. Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I was watching some good videos about smoothies and overnight oats. A good way to add in your protein powder, veges and fruits. Only if you like them(smoothies and overnight oats) ofcourse. Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Thank you all for your replies, always very helpful. I suffer from PCOS, thats also the main reason I decided to have the surgery. My body is insulin resistant and the hormone levels are crazy. Maybe this is the reason why I'm on the lower side of weightloss. Honestly I'm glad that I'm losing weight at all because few months ago that sounded impossible for me, no matter how hard i tried because of all the health issues. Now after the surgery I have lost 26lbs in total, I have started my vitamins regularly and YES I feel much better, energetic and motivated to do more. I agree losing more inches is better because you can see the results on your body. I just feel people still put me under pressure by asking how much I've lost and then say "o that's not enough, aren't you supposed to lose more with surgery?" I'm tired of explaining that everyone is different and losing slowly is as good as anything else. People must be thinking surgery is like magic and you will lose all the weight within days [emoji849] As suggested by all of you, I will continue with what I'm doing because it works for me. And maybe just read the posts and not compare myself to others. All your comments and suggestions are much appreciated [emoji5] Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Green tea?

Thank you all for your replies. Honestly I can't remember anything suggested by the team about caffeine. So why is caffeine bad after surgery? I'm just having one cup of tea with milk a day atm. But as I mentioned before I really want more hot drinks during the day, thought Green tea would be safe. As many of you still have green tea, i think it should be fine. Better than other hot drinks like coffee etc.. Isn't it? Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Green tea?

I'm not sure about the guideline. It doesn't mention anything about green tea. I will check with the team and try alternative teas maybe. Thank you [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Hi. I'm 5 weeks post wls now. I feel really hungry all the time. No matter how much water I drink. I won't say I can eat alot at one but I'm always hungry after few hours. Try to keep it to 3 meals and 2 snacks maximum. I'm afraid I am stretching my pouch already and will never loose weight. Anyone else had the same problem? Plus what about carbs? Do they make you more hungry? Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Always hungry...

My pcos was diagnosed bt the GP. He prescribed me metformin but I felt very nauseous and uncomfortable. Then I fell pregnant and stopped taking all kind of medicine. My baby is 10 months old now. I did not have a single period for the first 7 months after birth. Once they started i had continues spotting. After 3 weeks the doctor prescribed me hormone tablets to stop it. After a week or two the proper heavy bleeding. The weight went up and I looked like if someone has pumped air in me. Now a days its difficult to go to the gp. All they do is attend on call. I will ask them to make a full blood test but don't think it will be possible before next year. I have messaged me surgeon and his team asking about inositol and if I can continue taking that, as it doesn't make me sick like metformin. How long did you take the appetite suppressant? My weightloss has slowed down. I will start the inositol and see how it goes. I'm just afraid of expanding my pouch. Don't want to waste all my effort and courage to get the surgery done. Always hungry...

Oh my... I suffer from PCOS too. Now having same issues you described. Might be because of the insulin levels. I used to take inositol before the surgery but wasn't sure if I should continue with it after the surgery. I will ask my doctor tomorrow. How often do you take metformin? Did it help you with further weightloss? Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    PCOS/Endometriosis

I'm suffering from PCOS. Irregular periods, weight gain, water retention, anxiety... all the symptoms you can imagine and quite severe. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago in hope to lose some weight and that the body would reboot the whole hormone household and metabolism, having posiive effect on pcos too. I've lost almost 20 lbs in 5 weeks. Currently having a stall and fears not to lose any more weight. But like everyone here on the forum says, carry on with the routine and it will follow. Now coming to effects on pcos.. I feel positive regarding to my body image and weightloss, can sleep much better and have barely anxiety attacks. Can't say anything about menstrual cycle yet. Just hoping it will regulate the cycle too. The facial hair growth has increased though. I was taking inistole prior surgery for PCOS. Stopped at the moment. Will speak to my doc if I should continue taking them. Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Always hungry...

I will speak to my team. Maybe I should start some PPI to calm the acid down and then see how it works out. I had to throw up last few days but it was just acid no proper vomit. I feel too that carbs make me feel more hungry and protein keeps me fuller for longer. Going to experiment more with the routine to know what suits me best. Really appreciate all your comments. Thank you Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Always hungry...

Thank you all for your experiences and suggestions. It is real hunger.. my tummy rumbles, I feel low and acidity rising up. As soon as I eat something I feel much better. I will try and monitor it further. Proteins like egg keep me fuller too for longer but carbs don't. I will try and avoid carbs and eat more proteins. Maybe this will make a difference. Vibration plate

Hi. I did not just stand or sit on it. Increased the vibration levels slowly and did stretching targeting different muscle groups. You can find alot of videos on YouTube. I lost a few inches on my lower tummy, hips and back. Really looking forward to do it again. Hope I could help you. Sent from my SM-N960F using BariatricPal mobile app
