  1. I am a week post op and I get random stomach cramps that I assume are from the healing process. They feel almost exactly like hunger pangs, but when the subside, I know I'm not hungry. I am not trying to tell you that you aren't hungry, because you may very well be. Hang in there!
  2. All the pre op diets I've seen are different but one thing remains the same, high protein/low carb. Did your dr send a list of approved foods for your to eat pre op? As for driving home, I doubt it. You will still have drugs in your system. You should get all these details at your pre op, but you can call to ask beforehand. Good luck!!!
  3. Dry mouth is also a side affect of a low carb/high protein diet. I started getting dry mouth during my pre op when I went into ketosis. And a nasty taste. I have adjusted, biotene mouthwash is good, my husband uses it.
  4. I am day 6 post op and I was able to get 78 calories today, but my macros were great! [emoji23] I could never get in 500 calories right now. The last week I only had water and powerade, so zero calories. I'm not concerned because I'm following the plan my doctor set for me, once I heal, I'll worry about increasing. Right now I'm trying to hydrate. As someone who is medicated for OCD, I understand what you are saying though. Find a balance and not let this control you.
  5. That's promising! I came out with a bigger belly lol, but I snuck on the scales this morning and I'm down 16lbs from my pre op diet (7 days) so I feel better. And yes! The temperature of the water has made so much difference, thank you. It's trial and error!
  6. Other things I did not expect was the stomach/pouch random cramps. I guess that's part of the healing process, but they suck. I also expected to be starving, but I'm not. I just concentrate on fluids right now. I didn't expect to be SO swollen after surgery, I won't weigh until Monday because I want to give my body time to adjust.
  7. I am 4 days post op and have been frozen all week lol! Sleeping in sweatshirts, extra blanket, I feel ya!
  8. My dr told me to walk it out, that was the best for it.
  9. No, I was inpatient. Almost for 2 days because of dizziness and blurred vision caused by the anesthesia. But fortunately, I got to go home! We pulled the tubes out last night and it was a game changer. I still take my pain meds at bedtime, I'm more sore than hurting. I plan to weigh on Monday mornings. I started me pre op on a Monday, my surgery was on a Monday, just makes sense to me!
  10. I had mine 11/30. I'm just trying to stay hydrated, I can't even tolerate jello - it makes my stomach cramp. I'm drinking water and powerade. I haven't lost any weight either but I am SO swollen. So I know it's fluid. I haven't gained any, so I know once the swelling goes away, the lbs will too.
  11. I had my surgery on 11/30, and I'm quite uncomfortable. I have tubes in a couple incisions administering pain meds to the area, so the fanny pack I have to carry around isn't fun. The protein water made me dry heave, but plain water is fine. I'm tired and very sore, but I know it will pass. I also got blurry vision, but is returning to normal.
  12. Orbera is the gastric balloon. My husband is the only one that knows about my surgery so I'm here for advice and support as well. I'll definitely check in!
  13. I have a reverse type body dysmorphia. When I look in the mirror, I still see my 30 year old self. When I see myself in photos, I barely recognize myself. I'm a size 18 right now, my surgery is in the morning. I have wondered how I will "see" myself.
  14. Same, I tried broth today and I was nauseated ?, I'm just drinking water only today. Mines first thing tomorrow too!!! We got this!!!
  15. I had the Orbera (didn't work for me), so I remember the days of nausea. I don't look forward to that. I knew this entire month would be tough, I just keep reminding myself it will end and "why" I'm doing it. Hang in there, this will pass soon!
  16. I just noticed you are only a week post op??? How are you doing????
  17. I'm anxious and just ready for tomorrow to get here. I have all my goals laid out and ready to meet them, honestly, being able to wear my wedding rings again is my first goal I want to meet! Lol!
  18. Hey there! I have 3 kids and a husband who can't cook lol, so I can't avoid food but I have stuck to the liquids only. Yes, I get a min of 90g of protein with my 3 shakes but I'm not allowed shakes the last 2 days (strictly clear). It's my last day so I can tough this out! Surgery in the morning! All and all, it wasn't too terrible. I feel better today!
  19. EXHAUSTED! Day 6 on my pre op liquid diet. Surgery Monday. I've been averaging between 500-600 cals a day but today and tomorrow I can't have my protein shakes and I'm so weak and tired. Just venting.
  20. Same! We canceled plans due to Covid, so it was just us and the kids. I'm keeping my surgery private so the pressure to explain was lifted.
  21. Anyone else on their pre op liquid diet over this lovely Thanksgiving?! [emoji23] Day 3.
  22. I am day 1 of my pre op diet and I got Fairlife. Very very good.
  23. Congrats!! I'm sitting at my pre-op right now. So excited ?
  24. Mine is 11/30 also! I start my pre op diet tomorrow. I don't plan on taking my chewable vit until afterwards. I'm just going to take my regular vitamins this week.
  25. I start mine Monday and will only be doing 7 days. I'm going to try and keep my eye on the prize. Hang in there!
