    Stricture Talk?

I did, I suffered badly with not being able to hold food down or protein drinks and I went to get an endoscopy and they discovered a slight stricture. They did the procedure where they inflate the opening so that your food can pass through easier. Honestly there was no discomfort and it was simple. Don't be nervous Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. We are in similar situations I'm a lil over 2 months started at 328 and now at 277 and im experiencing my first stall, its been 2 weeks. I heard it's normal so don't worry too much about it! Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Hey guys I really need some guidance and help right now. So I'm about 10 weeks post op and will be going to Myrtle Beach for a week with my family. I'm excited but I'm worried about food, anyone know places there that are bariatric friendly or ideas on what I should bring? It's just a simple hotel so all I can think is protein shakes? But with the stage I'm at am I able to eat protein bars? Or the meal replacement ones? Still not sure about snacks even though I'm not a snacker...any help would be appreciated. 4. Just curious as to what everyone who had the surgery in January are eating now a days? I need some ideas on what to eat as I'm getting bored but also not sure what to eat anymore. Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. So I'm at a loss, the smell of food now makes me sick to my stomach especially when my family eats fast food. I struggled with eating because everything would come up, found out I had a small stricture. Had the procedure last week and have been trying to eat but nothing. Everything I've tried has come back up again and it tastes disgusting I mean just vile. The only thing that stayed down was refried beans from a local Mexican restaurant and when I eat Greek yogurt but I'm getting tired of it. I cant even drink my protein drinks they make me throw up mucus. I know this won't last for ever but I have no clue what to do and I'm hungry. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice? Any Bypassers in their 20s?

I just recently turned 29 and had my bypass about 3 weeks ago. I'm in the pureed phase and since surgery ive drop about 30 pounds. Seeing as I really can't do much and barely eat as of now I've had a obsession reading, it's literally taken over my old habits, that's all I want to do. I'm really looking forward to shopping and falling in love with myself again, the thought of reinventing myself leaves me excited for the future. The process isn't easy but it's worthwhile. Good luck on your journey and dm if you need anything!!! Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app

  8. Thank you...I don't stay far from where I had my surgery but because of covid they aren't allowing meetings. In fact this is my only support that I have as far as people who have had the surgery. And I know my sisters boyfriends mom had it but idk feel weird talking to her. But your message touched my heart and thank you for the birthday wishes Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Thank you for that it means a lot seriously, don't let my experience weaken your stance. I think this opportunity is amazing but it's also a lot of work, and I wish you luck as well on your journey! Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. You know I've researched for over a year, spent countless night watching other people's journey, taking class and I still feel as if I fell short. For the first time since my surgery (Jan 22nd) I broke completely down, I knew it was going to be hard but you never realize how truly difficult it is until you go through it. Tomorrow is my birthday and I've been a bit depressed so I got my favorite Indian dish pureed and just couldn't...it made me cry. The struggle of eating and constantly feeling it go to my stomach or swallowing to much air and getting gas, having to count and count and count. Don't forget the protein, don't forget to hydrate, or your vitamins. I want to do everything right but I feel like I'm coming up short. I can't stand the taste of any food or protein drink, trying to hydrate is a b***h because I keep thinking I'm going slow and end up getting bad cramps from it....and those monstrous bricks they call vitamins make me gag or vomit ugh. I know it'll get better I know this will pass but being in the present and feeling like I'm getting no where is killing me. And the mood swings don't make it any better...I'm incredibly sad or angry all the time. I don't regret this at all I just wish I could make the progress I'm supposed to be making and enjoy it. I've lost 25 pounds since surgery so I'm grateful for that, its just such a long and lonely process since no one around me understands. They say they do but they really don't.... just needed to vent. Thanks for listening. Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I'm about 7 days post op and I'm finding it troubling to drink them. First few days was fine but now I can only stomach 2 to 4 oz a day. It's like after I drink it this taste floods my mouth and makes my stomach turn. I don't physically want to vomit but the taste makes me ill. It's as if drinking them now on an empty stomach makes me not want them at all. I have an appointment next Friday, any tips or suggestions? I feel like a failure just starting out Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Guys I'm so scared and nervous, I know this will be the start of a fantastic journey but surgery terrifies me. Only part I'm worried about is how ill feel when I wake up. Any encouraging thoughts or words would be much appreciated. Wish me luck!! Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. So I am currently on my preop diet (surgery date: Jan 22nd) and my surgeon office requires low carb high protein diets. I just finished my first week and for the second I would like to do strictly liquids so that i can shed a few extra pounds and make sure my liver actually in shrinking. My question for those on a liquid diet, what should I be drinking or having that is good for liver shrinking? Protein drinks or meal replacement drinks? sugar free jello? or pudding? I just need a few ideas so I can plan accordingly and I was given the green light by my surgeons office so any tips or product recommendations would be much appreciated.
  14. Congratulations! I'm excited too, my surgery is the 22nd but I just wanted to reach out and say you've got this!! Also you are drop dead gorgeous girl! Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app
