About Me
DS surgery 9/2020.
Once I returned home I was in bed for another week. Still, no real Protein, maybe a few sips of Soup, and was unable to drink Water without extreme pain. It fell as if I was being punched in my stomach.
I met with my nutritionist and surgeon. Both sug
After struggling with my weight for over 15 years I decided to look more seriously at a surgical option. I chose the switch with my doctor after my history of eating and exercising yet not getting any long term results. This surgery seems to be the best decision for me and my situation.
It's been a month so far and I am off all 4 blood pressure medications and hopefully, after my next series of botox injections, I will not have migraines any longer.
My surgery went great, the issue was afterward when I could not swallow liquids or medications. I was extremely nauseated. The doctor has to perform an EDG to place botox into my lower abdomen/ esophagus to relax the muscle. I had a balloon procedure years ago but that was short-acting. The Botox worked almost instantly I was able to take my medication and sip liquids, while still on iv fluids. I was hospitalized for a week.
The doctor suggested I drink anything until I am able to tolerate water and to add an egg and eventually tuna. I was unable to drink my shakes because they were too sweet. Week three I began my Vitamins. That process has been okay. Getting tired of the after taste of the ADEK and Iron since they are both still chewable.
I returned to work in week 3. All desk work. My energy level was nonexistent. I could use the bathroom and tire washing my hands. My sleep was all over at most getting 3-4 hours at a time. Week four has been better. I woke up today feeling rested. I have added shrimp, chicken, and some ground beef. I am still not a fan of shakes or sweets. TBH I did not have sugar in my home before this.
I weigh myself at home monthly and I am currently at 206. My face appears to be thinner and my coworker can see some loss. Week 5 I have so much more energy. I am taking medication to help with staying asleep. I plan to start working out again on week 6. I am still over chewable vitamins. I have been struggling with finding other things to eat and I am not able to eat any bread items without becoming nauseated without the exception of nacho chips.
wish me luck and don’t forget to be patient with yourself.
