Considering I was 298 this time last year, I pretty stoked seeing that today. Technically it's under 200 so I've reached wonderland I think they call it

I’m not that old (I’m 39) but when I went to Starbucks the other day the guy at the counter greeted me by name. I was taken aback a bit but just took my coffee and smiled… but I’m so blah at 6 am that I’m just not focused enough to notice details like that.

i got to work and one of my students noticed there was a heart and a phone number on my Starbucks cup. 😱
i teach fifth grade so you can imagine how crazy the girls went over the information that the Starbucks guy has a crush on their teacher 🤦🏼‍♀️.

it is odd when you’ve gone your whole life with men never looking at you like that 🤷🏼‍♀️

A subtle non scale victory. I had a suit custom made. When I went to pick up the suit the tailor brought it out on a hanger and I told him that was not my suit. It looked to me like a teenager’s suit. He opened it up and showed me it was mine. Amazed how small I have become. I still feel like a fat guy.

My fiancé was in a terrible car wreck (he is okay) and we had to go to the tow yard to clean out the car. Because the trunk was electric-release only, and it was a coupe, I had to fold the driver's seat forward and get in the back to pull down the seatback to get into the trunk—and I fit and got back out, with no wriggling or grease needed.

LOL at my age-69-I tend to get the worried look and "Are you doing all right?" Being Southern by birth and the grace of God, imagine that sentence with our Southern drawl... "Honey, you look like you goin' dry up and blow away! Are you feelin' all riight?"

I'm honest with people about surgery. If they judge me it's not my problem but also may help someone unsure about doing it for themselves. I had surgery in October 2021 and turned 50 in February of 22 so I give very few f#@$s about things like that anymore.

Ran my first 5K on Saturday, and while it took almost an hour, I actually ran the whole way. It was amazing. When I started getting tired, I just remembered when I first started and how I died just running a minute, but now I ran for 55 minutes!
Also... came out of the shower this morning, and realized I could actually wrap the towel around me without that wedge of skin showing!!

I actually saw my shoulder blades move in the mirror and did a double take! I am so used to the layer of back fat obscuring them! I stood there for a few minutes moving my arms and shoulders in amazement! (My husband thought I was strange). 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was diagnosed with diabetes and told that if I didn't do something in 5 years I was going to have some serious issues. Cured of diabetes and 140 lbs later, I also wish I would have done it sooner. I know you don't have any health problems, but the keyword is YET. You don't have them YET.
When I was your age, I didn't seriously contemplate the surgery because back then it was too new (I'm 48 now) and it was the full open you from stem to stern unlike the 5 little incisions now. You have to weigh all your options and do what works for you, but if I were your age with today's surgery and knowing what I know now... I'd do it.

I saw one of buddies Dad at a event I go to every year in Tennessee. He took this picture of us to send back to my friend. When I saw it I couldn't believe what I had done to myself.
    That was my it moment.
I realized even though I still did a lot even at 575# if I didn't do something soon my girls would not have me in their lives. I was such an angry person too. Simple things other people did upset me because I knew how hard it would be for me to do.
btw I'm 31 and wish I would have done WLS in my early 20's instead of YoYoing for so many years.

4.5 months after my sleeve and I am officially overweight. It's the best thing I have ever done. I cannot believe the speed with which I have lost all that weight. I know that I want to lose another 40 pounds or so and I can only hope that I do, but honestly if I stopped losing weight in the morning I would be happy with what I have achieved right now. Best of luck to those of you starting out on your journey - it's a wild ride.

My husband wound up supporting me. He was really good for the first few days and was with me at the hospital, but now he is nagging me so badly about everything. I know what I'm supposed to eat and not eat and he is on me every time I even mention food. I'm in the pureed stage at the moment. I actually had my surgery on the 28th of February.
I'm getting my Water in and most of my Protein. He is driving me crazy though.
I must mention that he is overweight, has a health issue but still eats really bad things. pizza, ice cream, chips and dip, sugary sodas and sweet tea...I'm sure he eats other stuff when he isn't home too.
    *sigh*
I'm not trying to sabotage my tool.

It's not my weirdest non-scale victory, but it might be my proudest.
I took two flights and did not need a seat belt extender. I was also able to use/fit into the airplane lavatory during the flight. It's been 20+ years since I could claim either of these.

An oldy, but a goody: Mr. (effortlessly) carried me up stairs last night cuz i was being sucky about stubbing my toe 😂.
When he first did this a couple years ago during weight loss phase, I felt self-conscious and uncomfortable. Nowadays (3+ years out) im like: “Carry Me!” any chance i get 😇

Sat down in the laundromat chair today for the first time in ages (Covid meant not loitering inside) and experienced not standing up with the chair stuck to my arse. In fact there was a good five inch space of extra room for... something five inches to sit beside me.
Which means all white plastic chairs are no longer my nemesis. I'm cool with them now. We hang out.

I do not know if it counts. I am used to take my blood pressure every morning after taking my pills.
I normally just slide my arm in the sleeve of my monitor without adjusting the Velcro.
Well, yesterday I had to re adjust the sleeve because it was too loose in my arm

I love going to craft shows and I love to buy rings but they never fit me and they'd always have to be sized for me or made specially. I was about a size 9-10. Yesterday I went to a craft show and most of the rings either fit or were on the big side! The ones that fit were about a size 7! The down side of this is now I have to have all of my old rings sized down, but I'm waiting until my weight is stable.

Several months ago when I was heavier I always seemed to have to hike up my pants because most likely my belly was pushing them down and had to constantly adjust. I noticed now that I am down 12 inches on my waist, my belt holds up my properly fitting pants and I am not constantly adjusting, pulling up, tightening, loosening etc.
