  1. I just went thru all of this. Roux en Y June 2018 with hernia repair. Had second hernia repair Feb 2020. Have had trouble eating for years. In early June I had an esophagus motility test and endoscopy with BRAVO. Turns out I have nutcracker or jacK hammer esophagus. I was just prescribed 500mg of Gabapentin. They started me at 200 and each week I’ve been increasing my dose. I still have esophageal tightening, however with the gabapentin, I am aware it’s there but it does not hurt. Prior, many days it felt like a heart attack and was completely miserable. Right now, I’m starting to feel normal. Hope it helps someone else!
