Congrats! To prepare myself, I've been cleaning the house, getting things organized and spending a lot of time having heart to hearts with myself. I've been journaling a lot and trying to explore how I'm feeling through this whole process. I haven't stopped walking everyday (on the liquid diet) and that also helps clear my head. I placed an order for smaller utensils, souper cubes (for freezing Soups etc), an abdominal binder and mini mason jars to store the meal prepped food I'll make for the puree post-op diet. I just received all of my medications for the surgery and after surgery day so I'm organizing that as well. We are so close!

So exciting to see so many getting so close to the big day!! I had my groceries delivered today for my liquid diet and was both laughing at the pile of Protein Shakes piled outside my door and felt my nerves go up a bit. Getting so close! I go in for my preop visit on 6/1 followed up by a Covid test on 6/8. I'm already figuring out lots of way to stay busy over the next two weeks! I've been putting together an Amazon order with some small plates/forks, a Vitamin organizer, all my Vitamins and some Gatorade Protein Water and some Protein2O. What's everyone else doing to get ready?

My pre-op diet starts on the 26th of this month. I'm so nervous but so excited. And truthfully, I'm trying not to eat all the things I feel like I won't be able to have for a long time. I did have a cornish pasty (which are my favorites) and that was wonderful but its going to be fine not having things afterwards. I had 30 years of doing what I wanted and I didn't do well with it, so now its time to try something new. Full steam ahead.

Really sinking in now. Booked the time off work afterwards and revisited my hospital bag (so far earplugs, eye mask, lip balm, mouth wash, face wipes..) Found out today the LRD will 'only' be 10 days for me, not sure what yet - milk or just restricted calories.
I've only told one friend I'm going in for this so easy to feel like it's not really real.. she's been equal parts supportive and overbearing bless her. Glad to find a community here.

I’m June 1st as well...definitely feeling real now. I start my Preop diet on 5/18 then I go to my surgeon for the preop visit on May 27th. Office told me to plan on being there for 2-3 hours. From there I go to the hospital for preadmission testing...it’s going to be a long day! I don’t know if they will do the covid testing on the 27th or if I’ll have to go somewhere over that weekend. I have to work the night of 5/29 .. it’s my last shift to work before Surgery. It’s just around the corner!!! So excited and nervous!

You aren't alone. I'm so used to how I look now, I'm worried I won't like what I see. Especially with loose skin and possible Hair loss. But, at the end of the day, my desire to add years to my life outweighs my concern in that way. It's not shallow imo. How we look changes the way a lot of the world reacts to us, which feeds our own insecurities or appreciations.
I'm actually nervous about how people may treat me differently. I've heard sometimes there can be jealousy, or previous friendships fall apart because you are no longer their "fat friend". Which, I guess in hindsight, is better to know then to not know. I'm sure I'll still be the same dorky me, but lighter. Hopefully most of my friends and family will be supportive.
I'm excited for you and your journey. I'm right there with you.

I weigh myself every morning. I know there are little changes every day, and I don't let that bother me. But I take it as a time to reflect for a second, set an intention and try to be more aware throughout the day. The days I don't weigh or track, I kinda go off the rails. So its gentle accountability for me.
