Hey Sara! Good for you and congrats on your loss! I was banded June 20, down 45 pounds! Would love to see some updated pics! My husband took some of me this week before I went for my 2nd fill. I feel soooo much better, have a long way to go, but feel like I am on the right track now! Keep up the good work!

Serenity! Good for you, making this decision! We have a couple of things in common, my name also is Debbie and I am nearly 52. I got my band June 20, 2008, and got my 2nd fill yesterday. I have lost 45 pounds now, and I can really FEEL the difference! I also am somewhat of a musician, not nearly as accomplished as you, but i play guitar and bass (mostly in church and at family gatherings now). I used to play in a bluegrass band and then in a gospel band, but everybody (including my husband) are in a music slump, which happens to us all, as you are aware. But I keep hoping God will send me a Bluegrass Gospel group before I am too old to play/sing any longer! Hope you are well! Keep loving yourself, God loves you!

wow! you have done really well! 102 pounds! I was banded in June '08 and have lost 32 pounds so far.. I got a slow start because my band was empty until just recently. Keep up the good work!

hey john! Good talking to you earlier! I read your profile. I too am a musician.. i play guitar (about 35 years now), play dog-house bass for about 15 years, and I have been taking fiddle lessons, but those are not going so well! lol! I have sang in country bands, bluegrass band, and gospel groups... I have a karaoke machine, but only for personal use.. wouldn't dare try it in public! keep in touch and keep up the good work!

hey! I read your story... I too have been overweight most of my life.. struggled all through elementary, high school.. and mangaged to keep it under fair control in my early 20s.. then I blossomed... I never could get a doc in Tennessee to give me a letter for banding (they are a little backwards about things like this still).. so I made the decision to get it done regardless! I went to Tiajuana Mexico in June 08 and was banded on 20th! I have lost a little over 30 pounds and I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT! it isn't a "quick fix" but I believe I have the tools to succeed this time! My husband was born in Farmville Virginia... not far from you, I believe... Keep kin touch!

hey Katja! i am a little discouraged. I got my first fill yesterday and i have NO RESTRICTION... Did that happen for you? Is that normal? The doc that did the fill told me i probably wouldn't feel restriction the first 2 or 3 fills, but that doesn't make sense to me!

Well, I pulled through! Went to Tiajuana Mexico June 20.. have lost 15 pounds so far! It was a really good experience as far as surgery goes.... Very clean hospital with very professional people! I was very impressed! AND so far, I LOVE MY BAND. I only ate when I was hungry before.. thing is now, I don't get hungry! lol! This is great!

I see you have lost 24 pounds now (by your signature)... I am 10 days out and have lost 14! I am ecstatic! You keep up the good work!
