"Hey Pete! Hope your stay in Tiajuana was as great as mine! they were soooo good to me! It was like staying in a luxury hotel! Good luck with your "journey"! I am 5-1/2 months post Band (down 45 pounds), and I am still feeling my way around, but I would do it again in a HEARTBEAT! Congrats on making the decision to have a better life!

"Hi there, I am very new to this and a little bit lost. I live in Orange County/Los Angeles Area and see TONS of ads for 1-888-get slim. Anyone out there have any comments or experience with them ? I am very ready to take the step and do this. I am at least 50 lbs overweight with a BMI of 33.9 and have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Would I be a good candidate for this surgery ?... any good Dr to recommend in the OC/ Los Angeles area ?.... what is the average monthly weight loss after the surgery ?... any feedback will be much appreciated ! thank you !" I had my surgery in Tijuana, MX.. and it was a wonderful experience! Dr. Lopez-Corvala was very professional and the staff treated you like a "PERSON" and not a number! The band is doing well for me but it is just A TOOL as you will read throughout this forum.. it is by NO MEANS A "QUICK FIX" as my weight loss can attest to... it still takes determination and some effort on your part! 40 years! That is wonderful! I hope to be back to a normal size by the time I have my 40. I went to my 30, and I was HUGE! Thank you for the comments! It really gave me a boost! You keep up the godo work and keep in touch! Hope to see "less of you" soon!

All of those of you who have been trying to contact me... Was just able to get back online... am on a borrowed computer. Our home burned down (total loss) on Oct 28, and we are kind of bouncing around until we can figure out what we are going to do. God is working things out for us though and I will holler when things settle back into a somewhat nromal routine! Keep us in your prayers!

Been reading some of your posts.. You are an inspiration! I too have had the same feelings about whether or not it was "Worth it"... Times when I want to eat and can't.. but overall, I LOVE MY BAND! I am down about 70 pounds now in a little over a year.. and I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT! But anybody ever says something about me taking the EASY WAY OUT... don't know what they are talking about! This was a life-changing experience.. and the band don't do it alone! You have to be committed! Keep up the good work!

Bless your heart! I too have yo-yo'd for years. And I have a man who loves me at ANY SIZE, makes it easy to "endulge" and not think about the consequences... Gotta tell you though.. He's paying more attention now! LOL! You're a pretty lady.. Hope the band is working well for you!

Congrats! I am so afraid something will happen to my band before I reach my goal or even after.. I am self pay and I would be hard pressed to come up with the money for another one! lol! Everytime I have PB or anything.. it scares me thinking my band might slip..... You have done wonderfully! Keep up the good work!

FUNNY THINGS KIDS SAY: It's about time for my 3rd fill, and I am able to eat more and eat things I normally haven't been able to eat. My 10-year-old granddaughter looks over at my plate (with a half-eaten biscuit and gravy) and said, "Mammaw you're eating bread!".. I politely pointed out that I wouldn't be able to do that this time next week because I was getting another fill.. At that point (in the middle of the restaurant) she jumped up in the booth and yells, "Don't do it, don't do it, Mammaw! You love to eat!" Mammaw just "slithered" down UNDER THE BOOTH! lol! Kids!

Good for you! When did you get banded? I, too, am glad I did this (best thing I ever did for myself).. just wish i could have done it sooner! then i would already be at goal by now! lol! keep up the good work! You are a very pretty lady!

Good job! I had my surgery a couple of weeks before you and have lost 84 pounds.. Makes a big difference in your life style, huh? Congrats again!
