  1. Thank you! I’m so glad I did it
  2. I had surgery yesterday (sleeve) and have been freezing ever since - especially now that I am home? Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I live in Southern California so it’s definitely not the weather
  3. Hi all! Had my surgery yesterday and other than being tired, I feel great and am so very excited for my new healthier chapter. I’ve been walking with no issues and after an X-ray I should be able to have water and a protein shake. Yum! ?

  5. Yay! I believe there are 4 of us going on the 2nd quads
  6. What a great idea! Thanks for sharing - I think I'll make a binder this weekend
  7. Thank you! I'm not - came to my senses last night after speaking with a friend who is an MD. He talked me off a ledge. I KNOW it's the best thing for me and I want it, but I think it hit me all at once. My first appointment was 9/22 - I honestly didn't expect to be scheduled so soon (which is a blessing) but I started panicking about thanksgiving (first one post divorce) and a bunch of other things that aren't nearly as important as my health.
  8. I am getting really nervous- I almost backed out yesterday but was reminded of all the health reasons I'm having the surgery
  9. Please quote this post and respond only with your surgery date. Quote the last person who responds as that will carry all our dates in one post. Curious to see if the chain would work. Thanks for trying. ? Surgery date: Friday, 11/6 Surgery date: Friday, 11/13 (Goulagal) Surgery date: Monday, 11/2 (VickieRenee) Also, I had to cut and paste because when I tried to quote the last post. I know that's been said but I"m repeating as I haven't figured out how to delete posts...
  10. I was told that is for the doc to take a look at my stomach specifically for ulcers, hernias or anything else that will need to be repaired or would have perhaps delayed my surgery.
  11. I'm working from home also and plan to take a week off as well. I've enlisted friends to help make meals for my boys the first week and I'm going to spend next weekend making and freezing a few types of homemade broths for myself.
  12. Congrats! Where is everyone from? I'm in Southern California
  13. Lots of good protein powders on this list that satisfy the requirements the nutritionist gave me. *20-30 grams of protein per serving *<15 grams of carbs per serving * <200 calories per serving I've started a multivitamin and collagen + biotin pills today and have tried to increase my water intake. I'll begin exercising tomorrow. I'm very motivated to not only lose weight but to be healthy and strong! https://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/a19944313/weight-loss-protein-powders/ (in case the above link doesn't work or isn't obvious)
  14. So am I - only discovered this site and forums last week but it's already been super helpful.
  15. Fingers crossed for you!
  16. Had my endoscopy today - it definitely feels real now! 3 weeks (gulp)
  17. That is really great to hear thank you for sharing. I got my surgery date today - November 2nd!
  18. Yay! Congrats and happy early birthday! You are giving yourself the gift of health & hope!
  19. Add me to the list for Nov 2nd! I'm so nervous and very excited to have this done before my birthday on the 18th!
  20. Thanks, I'm not really scared about the surgery - I've just gone through a lot of life changes this year, separation, move, etc. I'm not used to doing things for myself but I know I'll be ok and I'm SO READY for my new healthier life. I do appreciate your suggestion - I need to think beyond the surgery and stop with the what if's.
  21. Hi all, I've gotten insurance approval for my sleeve (no date yet) and have my endoscopy next week. I'm terrified!! I decided to have the surgery to help control my PCOS, diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. I think I feel a mix of normal fear but also embarrassment, I'm definitely obese (5'4, 206 lbs) but because I'm not morbidly obese some people that I've mistakenly told say that I should just 'cut out soda', or am taking the easy way out and I'm not. I have struggled with my weight for over a decade and my health is getting increasingly worse. I'm 42 and want to take control of my health and life before it further deteriorates. I guess I am just venting...
