  1. So glad you are doing pretty well! Hoping the heartburn feeling is gone soon! And the gas pain!
  2. I responded on your thread but worth reiterating here too...you are doing a great job!!! Just jump back on that bandwagon! Keep reminding yourself why you are doing all this hard work! Hugs!

    Newbie

My surgeon does 1 week post op clear liquids (currently on day 2), then purées and full liquids until month 2. Then month 2-3 soft foods, then 3 is modified regular. I’d kill for a protein shake right about now. Tomorrow morning makes day 3 and I’ve had nothing but water, and a couple sips of Gatorade zero.

    2 week Liquid Diet Cheat

I know it’s difficult but keep trying to stick to it!! You definitely want your liver to be at a safe point for surgery! Think if you went through all this suffering for them to say it wasn’t enough?! That would be devastating! One day in my first week I had a garlic knot. I felt so guilty but I got back on track and had no issues with my surgery. Good luck! Keep chugging along! You got this!!!
  5. It’s going to great!!! Won’t be long now!

    Finally got my date!

Yay for a date! It will be here before you know it! I’m only post op day 2, but my biggest advice is just listen to your surgeon’s guidelines and listen to your body!
  7. Yes, I have zofran, phenergren, and a scopalomine patch on also. They called me in Emend yesterday, it’s a one time pill. It was $75 but worth every penny for that one pill. It has helped tremendously and I haven’t thrown up since last night!

    December 2020

My surgeon says that a leak usually occurs in the first 4 weeks. They also said I would know something was wrong, the pain is unbearable they said along with vomiting. Hugs!! I hope that’s not the problem!!!
  9. I’ve been using phenegren and Zoltan, as well as a scoplaomine patch (probably spelled that wrong). I still cannot keep anything down. and the viscous cycle just repeats because then my stomach hurts so bad. 😭😭 I’ve had several surgeries and 2 c sections and this is worse! I haven’t even drank anything but a sip of water here and there since my surgery yesterday. Tell me I’m not alone, or crazy. I hope it gets better soon.

1 Day Post Op - Vomiting Bad

Thank you all for your advice and encouragement. I did talk to the surgeon and he said it’s from anesthesia and it’s normal. He is going to give me the Emend pill to take today to help. im just worried about being dehydrated because all I swallow comes back up, but they don’t seem concerned at the office.
  11. It’s been a rough two days. My procedure went just fine but my nausea and vomiting is awful. The wretching of throwing up just makes my pain so much worse. I’ve been hanging in my bed and getting up and moving around here and there. Haven’t been able to keep water down, but trying.
  12. Tomorrow is the big day! I’m ready and nervous. All the things I’ve been saying. More for the fact that the hubs can’t be there with me, but it will be okay! Especially because it’s outpatient. Hoping tomorrow goes by fast!
  13. Won’t be long now!!! It has started to get easier and easier. Thankfully. 😂
  14. Glad to see everyone is doing so great!! 4 days to go and I’m so ready! Keeping myself busy with wrapping gifts and hiding from the kids so that I won’t have to rush and wrap 2 days post op. I did that last year being a couple weeks out from having a baby. Such a bad idea!
  15. I am type 2 also. I became insulin dependent, then my pregnancies made it so much worse and I ended up on an insulin pump. We are hoping this gets me off of it! If it doesn’t get me off insulin, then they will believe that I really am a late onset type 1. However, we don’t think this is the case, or I’m hoping not!
  16. I asked about this because I’m on an insulin pump and had the same issue after my csection, and this time they said it will probably happen again. My endo said it can be stress related to major surgery. So they don’t mind any rising at the initial few months. It usually settles back out.
  17. It’s awesome to see so many people having successful surgeries! I can’t wait for mine! 6 more days! How is everyone doing?
  18. Good luck tomorrow!!! You are going to do great! Can’t wait to hear an update!

    December 2020

We are surgery day buddies! I’m grateful one week is over and I just have one more to go!! Mine is not all liquid, but it is protein shakes and protein basically.

I’m so sorry!!! I know that must be frustrating! It won’t be long hopefully and you will be back on the schedule. Take the time to mourn, but know to keep pushing on!
  21. I think it will get better! I haven't had surgery yet, but I think in these beginning days figuring out what you are truly feeling is probably challenging! Can you try to drink some fluids (not sure what you are allowed to have yet!) and does sipping every 15 minutes or so help fill that feeling?

    Loss of Son

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my infant son, and while it is a different loss, I feel your pain and sorrow. It’s a horrible and awful feeling that you carry forever. It’s been 9 years, and time has helped soothe the rawness but the pain never leaves. Lots of prayers and hugs. ❤️

    Surgery Canceled

I’m so sorry!!! I’m wish I had some magic words to help the devastation you feel, but I don’t. However, I’m sending you lots of hugs and prayers. The pandemic is affecting things we would never dream of in the trickle of the mess it’s created. Take the time to let yourself be upset and pissed. You deserve it, but don’t let it derail you from your ultimate goal! Hugs!!
  24. Mine is outpatient. Though they do keep some “higher” risk patients overnight if needed. You go early in the morning and then you are there 8-9 hours. Basically you have things you have to meet to go home. Up and walking, potty, tolerating liquids, and in a good place pain wise. I have a high pain tolerance (thankfully) and have had multiple csections and other surgeries. So maybe that’s why my pain tolerance is high? Not sure, but nonetheless you are sent home with pretty good pain meds also.
  25. Finishing up day 5 of my pre op diet. Today was tough, I was so hungry! Figures, since it’s the weekend and not going places because of covid. I just tried to keep myself busy with the kids and wrapping presents. I’m trying to get things done I need around the house before surgery. The big things like organizing kids stuff, especially for school (virtual naturally) and kids/hubby meals. He is good at cooking though so that’s helpful. I’m on an insulin pump, and I’ve been having lows with the pre op diet. I haven’t had to bolus at all, just riding my basal rates, but I think some need adjusted. Last night I got woke up with my pump alarming that I was 42 🥴. I felt awful and delirious, but DH was able to get me something and it came up pretty quickly.
