Sue, I agree with you. For me, the coaching is more about having that accountability and push to do better. I’m not a fan of an MLM in general, but the workouts are great. I just choose not to buy the shakes or anything else.

You’re welcome, and no interaction with the trainer, but you have a coach with the app - my coach is actually also a sleeve patient, and I love her because she fully GETS my struggle. She’s incredibly inspirational to me, and super motivating. Her attitude helps keep me pumped and motivated, but that’s me. You may do better with a different coach or group of people. If you are interested, I’d be happy to give you her instagram. The only thing I don’t love is feeling pushed to purchase things I don’t feel I need, like the Shakeology. But that’s more Beachbody as a whole, and not my particular coach. If you tell her up front you’re only interested in the workouts, she won’t hound you. She’s only ever reached out with info on extras when I’ve asked for more info on whatever she’s promoting. You also have access to the group page, where you can post your progress and victories and just whatever - it’s like fitness Facebook, with other members doing their workouts - there will be members doing the same workout program as you, but it’s a random mix because there are so many different programs to choose from. I was definitely maintaining my weight, and toning up. I have gym anxiety, so it was a good compromise and I absolutely felt it. You’ll be sore!

    Hello Y'all

Same to you! 17 years is a long time to still feel happy with your weight, pouch - something to be proud of for sure.

    Hello Y'all

Hey friend, nice to meet you 👋🏼

Thankful Thread for 9/14 to 9/20

I'm thankful to have a super comfy bed to come home to after a long day. Who needs a man, when you've got a tempurpedic & fluffy pillows? I'm just kidding, I'm not fancy enough for a tempurpedic, but I'm still thankful for my cushy knockoff Serta.
  6. So my lil reset started out really well. I did good all day long, stuck to clear liquids all day. I was really missing my protein coffee drink this morning big time, but I got thru! I did just eat a lil tablespoon of peanut butter though. I gave in, but I don't feel like a failure. Today was tough, and I realize that eating a scoop of peanut butter doesn't mean I've totally fallen off the wagon and I'll eat donuts and cakes and cookies all day tomorrow. It'll be an easier day actually with full liquids. The plan I'm following allows for thinned out oatmeal and noodle soup. I have more options, and I won't feel deprived like I felt today. Proud even if I wasn't perfect. Forever a work in progress. And I'm actually looking forward to getting back into working out. When I win the lottery, I'm buying one of those super cool Tonal contraptions.
  7. Cat, you’re right - I felt satisfied and helped with the sweet craving also. I definitely didn’t feel guilty about it. Anastasia, this is what I keep telling myself too - if I could do it for a week pre-op, I can absolutely follow this plan, which allows for even more than what I was allowed that week before. And you did TWO weeks pre-op?? I don’t know how, but be proud!

I was doing the Barre Blend class on the Beachbody app. It’s an 8 week class that I didn’t finish, but not because it wasn’t great - it is! 5 days a week, 35-45 minutes - each week built in intensity. All you need are 1-3 lb weights, if you want to use weights at all. The trainer was super encouraging and her lil entourage of girls working out with her were great too - few base line girls, few advanced, and a few modified. So really everyone can follow along and get a good workout. I think I’ll eventually go back to that one because I really liked it, and because I didn’t finish (I’d like to not be a quitter). For now I’m going to try Transform:20, which is a 6 week class using weights and a step platform. 20 minutes a day, I believe. My app was synced with my Firestick so whenever I’d finish a workout, it would automatically log it on my app. The cons to this one is that it’s pricier - I think $100 annually? And they like to push their shakeology and coaching. BUT - the cost was worth it to me and I just choose not to buy anything additional - I just love it for the (huge library of) workouts.
  9. So. Starting over in the AM. Going back to basics. (Or at least this is my plan, I struggle with follow-thru, ain't even gonna lie!) I'm sitting at 141 lbs currently & I'd be happy to stay there for the rest of my life, but lately I can feel myself slipping. I'm getting softer in the middle and thighs and lil love handles...and not feeling the muffin-ier muffin top I've got going on. I've been snacking more, and way over-indulging in the iced coffees. Not working out like I should. SO. Trying a pouch reset tomorrow. I need a jump start to get myself back on track. I'm also dealing with some real life issues. Navigating a divorce and feeling down and simply not good enough. Feeling like a failure in too many areas of my life. I've always been an emotional eater, so I'm a lil (a lot) nervous about how I'm going to cope this next week. Trying to be a better, healthier version of me in the midst of heartache and pain. I'm not sure what I'm asking for here. Encouragement, I guess. Love. Dad jokes. Anything you've got, I'd appreciate it.
  10. Thaaaaank y’all, I so appreciate the words of encouragement 🤗 Weighed this morning (I lied, I’m at 143) and took progress pics. So far, I’ve been good today, but I’m busy at work, so. Distractions are good. The lack of caffeine and lack of sleep from last night will make it easy to just go to sleep early and try to avoid cravings! 😛 Thanks, Jake - I’m going to start Transform:20 next week, once I’m eating a lil more. It’s a 6 week class on the Beachbody app, I believe just 20 minutes a day. But yes, for sure have to add my workouts back in. I don’t know why I ever stop, I always feel so good after a workout! I get lazy 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thank y’all for checking in 🤗😊
  11. I take 9-10 pills (meds, but mostly vitamins) daily. I use a pill reminder app, which has been the MOST helpful for me. Because there is a certain time of day I take my thyroid, and certain vitamins have to be taken so many hours apart (and because I'm super forgetful) the app has been a lifesaver. I have a lunchbag that I use as my medicine bag and just take it everywhere with me - literally everywhere. Work, car rides if I'm out shopping and don't know what time I'll be home, wherever. I've allowed myself to become forgetful and eventually fall completely off and stop taking altogether when I don't use a reminder and take my bag with me everywhere, so it works for me.
  12. Thank you, Jordan. I appreciate your kind words! Have you ever heard the Demi Lovato song, I Love Me? That's basically me in a nutshell. Overly compassionate and gentle with other folks, but usually not with myself. Working on it. I appreciate you! ❤️
  13. One piece of advice to your partners: don’t make you feel guilty or make negative comments about your weight loss. If they are struggling with insecurities with the changes you’ll make (with your body, with self confidence, with your lifestyle in general) then they should talk to you about it. They might struggle more than any of you realize, and that’s probably really normal - but you should just be aware. A major life change for you will be a change for your relationships too. Good luck to you, my friend. 😊
  14. From 275 to 141 🥳🙌🏼😄
  15. I’m 3 years out, and proud of my weight loss so far, but my biggest fear is regain. I’m hardcore struggling right now. I actually think I’m going to try a reset, but I know I need some support before I do start to put weight back on. I have Beachbody on Demand, the Fit52 app, MyFitnessPal, and I just started a free trial of Noom (which I’m definitely canceling before it ends)...I have all of these tools at my fingertips and I’m currently laying in bed, watching Love After Lockup, contemplating a snack. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Y’all. Anyone else currently riding the struggle bus??
  16. Well I appreciate your response. I totally agree, I have to actively think about and monitor every single day - even when I know I’m screwing up. Hoping this reset helps. And this group. I’ve got to start tracking again too. And working out consistently. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    Pooping

Taking a probiotic daily is great too!
  18. How far out are you, Cat? How do you deal with the struggle and reign yourself back in?
  19. I’m thankful for a job that I actually love and coworkers that I tolerate! (I’m kidding, I genuinely adore my coworkers) 😊
  20. Thanks Jess, good luck to you too! Forever a work in progress 🤷🏻‍♀️😘
