I had forgotten how comfortable jeans are when they don't have a big gut pushing them down all the time.

I tend to hang on to clothes way too long so as my sizes have gone down from XXXL to XXL to XL over the past 6 months until recently, I could find things to wear. However, I am now wearing L shirts and I haven't been this size since college, so I have had to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. The good thing with the pandemic lockdown is that I can wear sweats every day and only clothes to work out in and maybe a few pairs of jeans to go out in public with. I'm not buying expensive stuff though- Walmart and costco are fine for now. I'll save the more expensive things for later when my size is stabilized.
To answer your earlier question- I have kept a few of my fat clothes, gotten rid of a bunch of them, and will probably throw the rest out after I have proven that I can keep the weight off. Maybe I'll do another purge of the closet this weekend. It feels good to move past that long chapter in my life.

Now that I'm down 52 lbs (halfway to my goal), I'm not going back to my former fat self. I cleaned out my closet last night and got rid of about 15 suits and a bunch of other things. Because I have been on a roller coaster ride most of my adult life, I still have plenty of clothes to wear and have probably another 20-30 lbs to go before I need to go shopping. But it was very therapeutic to be able to say goodbye to the fat clothes.
I'm kind of in a stall (only lost 1.2 lbs. this week) at the moment, though I am slowly going down the scale. I think it is time to kick up the exercise a bit.

I thought I'd log in with a few updates today. I started this process back on July 31st with a high weight of 284. I lost 34 lbs before surgery on Sept. 21st and weighed in at 233.2 this morning. The two big milestones are that I passed 50 lbs lost and I am now a BMI of 34, which means I'm only "obese" instead of "morbidly obese". I have a long way to go to my 180 target, but I am happy about the progress so far.

Excellent thoughts on this. Thanks to everyone. As I'm still only 2 months out of surgery, I just now started a "pile"
I had purchased a 4XL pair of shorts and a shirt about 2 months prior to surgery as I needed something to hold me over. Those are definitely in the pile of stuff to donate. A neat little milestone happened... I have a pair of jeans from 8 years ago, size 40 waste. I was comfortably able to get into those this week. Glad I hung on to those. As I stated before, the biggest fight/struggle/challenge to me (as i'm sure it is for all of us) is the mental. Luckily, most of us are seasoned battle veterans with regards to our weight. We are smarter, more compassionate and more resilient. I sincerely wish nothing but the best for all of you.

What is your win this week or today?

Just out of curiosity today I grabbed a pair of jeans out of the storage closet that I haven’t worn in 13 years, a pair that I never thought I could squeeze into, but they fit! I’m 85 days post op and wore a size 24 or 26 in jeans, this pair is an 18. They are a little more snug than I care for in the waist, but they easily went on, zipped and buttoned, I kinda of like mine a little looser and then add a belt, but they definitely it! This felt like a huge victory for the day, because I was sure they weren’t even going to pull all the way up!

This morning I was putting together my end of the month list of goodies I need to purchase. Normally it includes my supplements and Tylenol along with all the other crap that ends up costing an arm and a leg. I realized I haven't ordered Tylenol for a long time and I checked on my Amazon list (I live in the middle of nowhere and they carry the powdered Tylenol and I found I really like that better than the capsules) and I have only ordered that one time since surgery! I used to take Tylenol around the clock for back aches, knee issues and headaches along with NSAISDS and other prescription meds and now I am only taking my thyroid med, my protonics, and vitamins!!! I don't remember the last time I took Tylenol !!!
Ditching the medications feels so good!!! I wish I had done this years ago!!!!

I definitely have the bug... I have been riding my CB250 Nighthawk every chance I can, even in freezing temps. Yesterday, I pulled the trigger on a "new" to me 2002 Honda Shadow VT1100c. It needs some maintenance before I can take it on the road, but it won't be too long.

From the male perspective- if he is "the one", it shouldn't matter to him either way. He will appreciate you, and likely think it's cool to see how far you've come since you mentioned that he knows about your WLS. He's probably just as nervous about it as you are and will just be happy to get that far with you.
Relax, it will be fine. At that moment, he's likely just trying to think about baseball to avoid being too excited.
And on the remote chance that he does have a problem with your "squish", he's a jerk. Run away and be thankful you dodged a bullet.

I didn't drink coffee for a while but after a few months, I started a daily routine of getting a large cup, where about 2/3 can be filled up with my Keurig coffee and the rest of the room I pour in my Premier Protein shake. The Cafe Latte flavor is perfect, but sometimes I mix it up with chocolate or vanilla. It takes me a while to finish it and that's all the coffee I drink in a day. The rest of the day, I usually drink Gatorade Zero.

Checking in on everyone that was a September 2020 surgery date.
I was sleeved on 9/10 - and today just after 4 months out, I'm at 59 pounds lost. (from 282 to 223).
I hope everyone is having great progress, I cannot eat any bread, flour tortillas, or Pasta without getting sick still, so I have completely adjusted to low carb, but maintaining about 1000 cals a day and 75+ grams of Protein daily.

I had surgery on 9/28 and am 61 lbs down since surgery day! I've been in a bit of a stall these past 3 weeks (only losing 2 lbs) ... I think my body is just now catching up with everything and trying to figure things out! I cannot eat chicken, turkey, lunch meat, or salmon without immediately puking (I'm working with my nutritionist to try and figure out what's going on there). Red meat, scallops, and white fish are about the only significant Protein sources I'm keeping down on a regular basis. I'm hoping I can break this stall sooner or later - it was SO AWESOME to be on a roll with losing weight for so long! I was averaging 600-800 calories a day ... but tis week I've been HUNGRY and getting in more like 1000-1100 (high protien/low carbs). I'm averaging 10k steps a day and doing a 30 min spin class once a day ... so the activity is there. I just need to continue trusting the process! Never in a million years did I think I'd be 61 lbs down in 3.5 months! Feelin good!
