Hi i'm Dani. I found bariatricPal by reading forums which I do alot in my pass time. I like to look up stories from different people, the good the bad and the ugly and apply it to my own personal struggles. I'm almost at the mid mark of my weight loss goal I want to lose roughly 100-110 pounds currently i'm at 40 pounds down. Why I chose to have surgery? I was struggling, I was unhappy and I was scared. I was struggling with diets, now I am a awesome dieter I know how to drink the water and eat the meals but I would plateau around 30 pounds and nothing happens. This happened with a numerous of diets, calorie counting, atkins, I even tried the fat burner soup diets and liquids all the same results. Then I would go back to my previous eating habits and each time I would end up at a higher weight than when I started. I didn't really begin to gain weight until about 28 yrs old after my fourth child and then it became uncontrollable. Harder to lose I was unhappy. I was tired of the comments "wow you gained weight" or people watching my plates of food I stopped going out. I stopped being active I realized I was the fattest person in my house. And while they were still their active lean selves everytime I ate what they ate it was like I gained 10 pounds. Then I recieved my wakeup call which was that I was prediabetic and I am absolutely terrified of diabetes being as though I lost a friend and grandfather to it. So I decided to ask my medical doctor about weightloss surgeries she then connected me to my surgeon.  So far my weight loss has been successful. I'm learning what I can have and what I can't im 7 weeks post op and i'm noticing most of the old foods I loved make me sick but it hasn't discouraged me. I've been more into cooking and looking up recipes with lean meats, no carbs or grains and have been quite successful. I think the HARDEST part for me is rice. I was a major rice eater before surgery and that has been the hardest thing for me to stay away from but I just keep thinking about my goals and won't allow anything to get in my way. I hope bariatricPal allows me to connect with people like me. I hope to find friends and motivation that will guide me to a better life. I want to share recipes, exercise routines and just an overall good environment where I just be me without judgement.
