Eli Antia reacted to drawingdami in Muscle spasms
I did and it was because my electrolytes were out of whack. The two main ones to help with muscle spasms are potassium and sodium. I am not a fan of Gatorade because it has a lot of salt, but no potassium. Cow and soy milk are high in potassium and have enough sodium per serving to help replenish your body's needs. But as @tarocardreader says, let your team know. Also, get your Fluid in!

Eli Antia reacted to Arabesque in Only 2 days on "pureed" diet?
I was two weeks, liquids, two weeks, puréed (sloppy foods - get out the blender) & two weeks soft (mushy with minimal chew - lots of slow cooking) before trying more solid food too. Personally I’d go slowly through these stages & don’t be concerned if you find you have to go back a step. You’ve just had surgery on your digestive system & will be healing for a while. You don’t want to put too much strain or stress on it. Your tummy will soon tell you what it’s ready to tolerate.
Good luck.

Eli Antia reacted to Lily66 in First time feeling some buyers remorse
I’m nearly 6 months out and cooked (refrigerator prepared) pulled pork from Aldi for hubs last night, along with hush puppies, fries and onion rings in the air fryer (he’s tall & thin). I tried a bite of the pork while cooking to test flavor and it did not sit well. It had great flavor and he loved it but my tastes and desires have changed Big Time. There was no desire what so ever to try the sides I had prepared for him.
At 3 months post WLS I was like you, my head and memory wanted to enjoy it and I felt a bit left out watching others. Now? I feel a knot at the back of my throat saying “I no longer like how that makes me feel”.
So I live vicariously through his ooohs, ahhhs, yums and crunching, and instead of lusting after his food, I smile, ‘grateful for this gift of a new me’ and the memory is all I need. I’m serious, I no longer feel deprived of sugary fatty foods, I simply do not want them.

Eli Antia reacted to rgetty02 in Had Surgery Yesterday - Can Drink and Swallow Normally?!
I had gastric bypass one week ago today and feel as nothing has changed. I drink without feeling full or anything. I hope this is the way it should be 😳

Eli Antia reacted to Rdhead61 in 6 weeks later, down 29#, but exhaustion and nausea?
I am at 4 weeks and feel your pain. Exhaustion is a constant thing for me now. I had to take a step back on my food to the soft food stage because of discomfort.Today was much better thank goodness.

Eli Antia reacted to Machta in 6 weeks later, down 29#, but exhaustion and nausea?
G'day, all. I'm almost 6 weeks out, and the weight loss is going very well. I'm down 29# and about 2 sizes. My 18yo daughter is so excited for me, and so is my husband! She points out changes in my body, from "I can fit my arms around you to hug all of you now!" to "Your knees look different!" I am so blessed to have them behind me in this journey.
Just a few negatives right now -- I still have to have a BIG nap (2+ hours) almost every day. I hope that improves soon. Also, just today, I'm having some nausea. I decided to go back to pureed food for a day to see if that helps, and it does a little bit.
I'd love to hear from anyone else who has had exhaustion and/or nausea at 6 weeks . . . although overall this is SO worth it!
Best of luck to everyone. This is not an easy journey, but by the grace of God, we'll all get through it!
