BPing or whatever
liquids for 2 days then mushies for 2 days, to reduce the swelling that pb'ing will cause. I don't always follow that though. Teri

Pics and info for new Realize-C band
thank you for sharing that, and contrasting the two brands. I wish I'd seen that before my band, as I would have loved a low profile port. I already have a lump where mine is placed.

BPing or whatever
I have pb'd once... ouch! I was eating, and my son came up behind me and smacked me on the back, causing me to prematurely swollow my food. OUCH that hurt. I checked with my dr and it's ok, because I have done fine since, but he had me go on liquids for 24 hours to make sure. teri

Wii fit Q
But that report is based on the WII SPORTS that comes with the system, not the wii fit. So I find it totally useless. My surgeons had never heard of it until I spoke of it June 5th. They had me bring it to the next support group (july) and my son showed it. (i was embarrassed to) And since then they actually recommend it to other couch potatoes like me teri

Pre-op Doctor's appointment
Truthfully, I think he thinks I'll be less income for him. Everytime I go in it would be charged as a extended visit. Even if all he did was write new scripts. So that's my personal opinion. And of course he wouldn't need to write so many with me being healthier. Teri

Pre-op Doctor's appointment
My PCP (now ex) was against me getting lap-banded. Seriously within two weeks of being banded, I was fired as his patient. I cried for a day, and was upset, but decided I was on to bigger and better choices in my life, and a new PCP was in order too. I found a phsyician that is a much better fit for me. Who has more experience with the lapband. And also seems to be MUCH more there for me. So just be forewarned that you may end up walking my road, and get fired too. Or find that visits with him/her so stressful you are making yourself sicker. So not that the banding is a bad idea, just pay attention to how you're feeling if you need to see your primary in the future. Funny thing happened last weekend. I saw my EX pcp walking down main street in my town. And I nearly VOMITTED I made myself so sick seeing him in a social setting. How could I have been his "patient" for 18 yrs? Thank God he fired me. 6 days ago it happened...
Having had shoulder surgery myself. I can tell you they moved my shoulder in ways that were uncomfortable for me. BUT I have to say I snapped back pretty good. I'm doggone near that Half centry mark. 12 yrs and a few months, but my body has been thru way to many accidents (car, fall, etc). WTG on the weight loss. I hope each day you feel better. Teri

One pound up, one pound down, one pound up...
Pretty much. Then after the first fills, you will loose a few pounds, then again stall. I'm still there. Not enough restriction. So the first days, when you're on liquids/mushies again, it'll drop a quick pound or two. Teri

September bandsters
I was banded 9-16, I've had two fills. I go next week wednesday for another. I have 2.2 ccs in a 10 cc band. I've had some bumps along the way thanks to stress. I've lost since surgery 18 pounds. I'm pms-ing, so I have gained 2 pounds this week (UGH!). Anyway, I'm struggling too. teri

Sexual Assault Accusation, Please Help!
wait a minute here.. the original poster came here for support, not for people to fight over they should or shouldn't have wanted kids. I find this quite offensive. Yes I'm an anti-abortion person, but I seriously have doubts any one here gives a crap about the original poster anymore. Original poster... My prayers are with you, and I hope you seriously consider counselling for your daughter and yourself. Teri

oops
I normally would have stopped eating, but my kids were fighting, and I was distracted. I screwed up. I know that.

oops
I walked around (literally) my house about 6 times in 20 degree weather, and finally felt better.... and burned God knows how many calories. The first two laps were a jog type speed. The end was dragging my feet speed. I live in a 14X74 feet trailer, with a garage right behind me (1 1/2 car) so I walked quite a bit. I feel fine this morning. Thanks teri

Band tight Stress??
Thanksgiving night my son had a seizure ( avery very long seizure) he was life flighted to another hospital. Well the stress of that shut my band down tight. I couldn't eat, or drink for many hours. I finally got to drink about noon time that next day. I was still hydrated but barely. So I know for sure stress... TOM does it too. teri

FINALLY, First Fill
wtg.. gosh some dr's give larger fills. I wish mine did. I'm only at 2.2 cc's. teri

why did you go lapband over bipass?
I chose the lapband over bypass because of the malabsorption, the hospitalization. I hate being away from my kids. Because of the problems my sister had with the bypass. I loved how the band was adjustable, so if I started gaining back (like my sister did with the bypass) they just tweak the baby. It was just an all over better fit for me. Plus financially I couldn't afford to buy new clothes every other week. The band allows room in my budget to get clothes less often. teri

Big Medicine?
it's on discovery health, TLC and the discovery channel. Go to the website www.discoveryhealth.com and search out "Big Medicine" and they'll find it on the tv schedule and email you reminders. Seems like there is a "marathon" on December 21 on Discovery Health. teri

A bit... contradicting?
What I've done is had saltines, or some sort of cracker to thicken it up. It stuck with me. You know in the broth so they are soft, but not all liquid. I don't use a lot of broth either. teri
