  1. I haven't been around much lately... I'm sorry. I read when I have time. I'm having some issues with depression, which has kept me pretty much to myself this last week. Tomorrow I go for the ugi, or flouro whichever... and I see my surgeon's pa. Of course there is a huge lapse of time between appts, so I am sure he'll catch my surgeon between patients, and talk about results before I even see him. I'm a wreck tonight. I've already decided I'm taking a sleeping pill at 8:30. Should be in bed by 9. Thankfully the boys are generally down by 8:30 these days. Matthew is getting so much more verbal. It's been a real joy, and all this upset with my band and I've not enjoyed it. He's saying things like I want, more, done, duice (for juice), um for food, Mommy instead of mama. Hug momma. Love you momma. It's a miracle to me. My babies are 3... where has the last 3 yrs gone? teri
  2. way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I'm a single mom of 3 boys. A 11 yr old, and twin 2 and a half year olds when I had my surgery. They've just turned 3. One of my twins is VERY much disabled. He has cerebral palsy. I had to lift on him. I came home the same day. My neice was here, but she literally did nothing. I had to lift on him that day. He was 25 pounds. RIGHT AT My surgeon's limits. I kept him often in a stroller, or a high chair (I have one that sits on the floor) and I would just sit with him. For nap times I laid down with them. Napping just helped. I didn't have the luxury of help. I had no choice. So I did. It took me longer to be completely pain free, but it was like 2 weeks and I was back to me. I was doing laundry the next day. I was taking care of my boys the same day. I came home dinner time, and ended up with my father's help putting them to bed that night. Then the next morning my neice showed up. Yes my 11 yr old was a great help. He did things to keep the boys busy at times. But all in all I did it alone, and I'm fine. Teri
  4. It appears I have a slip. :sneaky: I'm so sad! The other possibility is a dialated esophagus. Not sure which is better/worse. Either way I may be back in the OR again. Not sure what way to look, or where to turn for advice. Teri
  5. Ok who went home last night? My dvr died I can't see it. So who did what? I saw the first hour, but then went to bed. I'd done a ton of spring cleaning. Teri
  6. I did late yesterday. Did you get it? thanks teri
  7. Well, I'm officially 6 months post op (and one day now). IS anyone else having trouble getting into the site? I've not done well this month. I've been sick with head colds, tummy bugs, and just generally feeling YUCKY and achy. I've actually gained back what I'd lost and feel worse about it. But with the tummy trouble and even when my head colds were at their worst I hit the comfort foods (chicken Soup, ice pops, toast). Most were sliders. Good thing was I didn't dehydrate, bad thing was that I was constantly hungry. Sometimes I didn't care, other times just one more ice pop. One more cup of soup. Yea... now I'm paying that price. But as most people, when I'm sick the exercise went out the window. Now I'm having a problem with my knee, and hip (same side). I see my primary on wednesday (and surgeon's pa). Hoping to get some information. I also missed the last two months of support groups. Some family drama has made it impossible to have a baby sitter. I am going to the meeting on thursday morning. It's a lapband specific group. Maybe that will help. I'll be bringing one of the twins with me, but hoping my mom will take the other. It's only an hour. I am looking forward to the full effects of spring. I used to love walking... and am hoping to get back to it. Last spring Brandon and I took the twins in wagon's and were walking a full 3 miles. Not sure we'll start out that far right off. But definitely the 2 miles we were doing in half an hour. The twins are getting bigger and in that getting heavier, and more of a challenge. I'm also hinting to my bf that I'd love a bike and bike trailer for the twins. Well that's my 1 am thoughts :scared2: How are the rest of our samauri's? teri
  8. Oh gosh I'm becoming quickly the queen of sliming. YUCK! I too am stuck. I'm stuck at 50 pounds lost. I know that's a lot, but I lost nearly 30 pre op. I can get down to 221, but then after about 3 days i'm back up in the upper 220's. UGH! But for 3 days I'm nearly at my st patricks day goal. I want to be in the 2teens.... Then the "one"derland. Anyway.... I'm still here. Still struggling. I did have an event, my surgeon's are calling an over fill. Three weeks after my last fill, a tummy bug went around my house,a nd I was so sick. Nothing went down, except Water. They took all my Fluid out and I was fine. But I've had a pressure between my shoulder blades since then. I see my surgeon in two weeks again. Teri
  9. #5 was to much for me.... and that's hard to admit. Glad we did a complete unfill, makes me more grateful for what we have. Ok... I didn't do anything special... so I think my body is finally kicking in again.... But since Monday I lost 4 pounds. Weird. I am watching what i eat more carefully. I'm also making sure I get enough water, and fibre ( I got the fibre chewables that are weight smart or whatever, they're new on the market). I'm finally not fighting constipation. I'm peeing CONSTANTLY! But hey it's helping. I am hungry often, but I do think that's head hunger. Why? Because if I can distract myself, it goes away. I also started with the wii fit again this morning. It's been so long I barely made it thru some stretches, and 20 minutes of the free step in the fast step. I hope to continue doing it. Pre op I did it daily... I've slacked off. Admission time... I suffer from chronic back, and arm pain. I have had a spinal fusion, need several more. I have narcotics to take, but they barely take the edge off the pain. I'm afraid to be impared to much. I have the twins to care for ya know. Anyway, since the band surgery was in the fall, it's been a real nightmare to exercise at all. Spring seems to be coming to upstate NY, and I'm feeling a tad bit more human. I love the snow or I'd relocate. I'm on heavy weight pain medication, and it barely takes the edge off. My pcp has offered to increase it, but I'm fearful of being to tired to do much with the boys. Or of falling asleep while caring for them. I won't be irresponsible. Days like today, when Michael kept me up most of the night crying, I haven't even taken any, because I'm so tired, I"m falling asleep without it. Hopefully he's feeling better and will rest tonight. I will go. Didn't come here to write a book. Teri
  10. yes i'm loosing hair!!!!!!!!!!!!! teri
  11. So we're 6 months post op this month (well March). Where are we? What are we doing to continue our successes or make us more successful in this journey? Winter has been harsh on many of us, and spring will soon be here. What will you change with the season's? Teri
  12. Ditto Deb's wonderful post. It's going to be nearly 40 today, I think I'll bundle the twins up and go for a nice long walk. In the fall (pre op) I easily walked 2 or 3 miles 3 or 4 days a week. Since surgery.... NONE. Why? first it was post op I get tired easy, then the twins started getting sick one after the other. Then it was I'm to tired, or to busy. Then winter came along, and you can't take the twins out in the cold like that. I think they need it as much as me. Teri
  13. I'm not a VV, but I am a september Samauri. I just wanted to say WOW! You are all doing great. Personally I was discouraged, but after reading your one year bandiversary, I'm encouraged again. Thank you! teri
  14. I'm with the others. You have a lot to be proud of. You're doing awesome. And you have a tool that will help you keep it off, Does she? Nope. Teri
  15. I finally have some fill back. I have just 4 cc's in my band, but it seems to be enough. teri
  16. You are all doing great. teri
  17. I do feel better with no Fluid in the band. Tomorrow is the big day. I'll get back somewhere between 4 and 4.5 ccs. I'm so excited to get it back. Teri
  18. I have pcos, among many other problems. I'm done having children, but my sugar issues have completely become in check. I no longer see my endcrinologist, as I'm considered glucose intolerant now. In a year I'll be cured. :blushing: I don't get AF, but I get pms still, and it's pretty regularly at 28 days now. My hair loss and skin problems seem to be normalizing now too. So I would have to say yes.... it's helping my pcos. Teri
  19. I had a complete unfill. I had 5 cc's in my 10 cc band. And now I'm dry as can be. Teri
  20. I know that's vague, but I wanted your attention. My band last adjustment was the 21st of January, nearly 4 weeks. I've been doing great eating wise. I'm under a HUGE amount of stress, and I know my band/stomach doesn't like stress. In the last three days, I have pb'd like 3 times. Twice because I tried to answer the phone while eating meals. From now on the answering machine gets the damn thing. Today, I am having trouble eating anything past the pudding consistancy. Seriously I pb'd on thinned mashed potatoes for lunch. I'm good getting liquids in. I know I should call the dr, but any other suggestions? Teri:eek:
  21. I've had 5 fills, plus one attempt at a fill, my port was twisted or something. I've never had anything. They've offered each time. But I decline. It doesn't hurt. Not for me either. BIG PAPA: yes I've had to, when they thought my port was flipped. teri
  22. How wonderful hitting "One-derland" is. Enjoy it... we don't mind the font... Mine will be huge if I ever hit it. teri
  23. Wow some activity here! I'm doing ok. I've had 5 fills now. The first two were 1 cc, the others were around .5 ccs. I started out with 1.2 cc one dr said, the other said .2. So I'm not sure how much is in there, and they don't measure it often. Only if they sense aproblem. I'm struggling weight wise, btu have also dropped some inches. I don't see it, but people around me are always saying how great I look. *Shrug* I'm really concentrating on my diet right now, or meals. Not really diet, but what I'm eating, and journalling again. I found myself doing better eating that way the last few days. How is everyone else? teri
