How come the weight isn't coming off?
Okay, well I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I'm very discouraged. My first fill is tomorrow and I'm actually looking forward to it! I'm staying hungry and not losing an ounce!!! I need to find my sweet spot soon!!!

Undecided about LBS....
I just had lapband two weeks ago, but I know where you're coming from. I had 90 lbs to lose and literally no health issues. I knew I was knocking on the door of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions and more. My mom's health is deteriorating and that was a big push for me. I want to be a healthy mom to my teenagers and one day be able to enjoy grandchildren. I'm a research fanatic. So I researched all I could about the surgery and after effects. I started talking to people everywhere...asking them if they knew someone who had the surgery. It's unbelieveable...how many people you will find! I was getting a pedicure with a friend and asked her about it....well, the lady two seats down from us piped in and said "I have a lapband!" I also prayed about it alot and that was my deciding factor. The signs were there for me and everything fell into place. I've tried LA weightloss among many others and lost weight on them...but always gained it all back. I was looking for something to last a lifetime. This was it for me...my last thread of weightloss hope. With discipline and God's help, I can only hope and pray that this will be my answer. I know what you mean about getting advice from long term banders too. My two questions that I asked everyone was....Would you do it again? and ....How long have you had the band? EVERYONE said yes to doing it again and I talked to folks who had it anywhere from 6 mos to 3 yrs. Sry to make this so long...but I wanted to offer any help to you about your decision. Just remember...everyone is so different. What's right for others may not be right for you. You have to be 110% committed if you're going to do lapband! It's not all about the band. You play the biggest part! GOOD LUCK TO YOU WHATEVER YOU DECIDE! ;o)

Mushy Food Ideas Wanted
mmm...sounds good! I'm very encouraged by both of your weight loss too! Vegasgrace, did you really drop from 256 to 137? Congratulations!!! I need all your helpful hints! Also, I'm scheduled for a cruise in July so my Dr is postponing my first fill to afterwards...which is a relief for me! Anyone been on a cruise after bandlife? There's TONS of food, so it should be interesting!!

What exactly is PB/PBing?
I'm so nervous about all that!!! I think I will be the Queen of Chew! lol THANKS!!!
-
What exactly is PB/PBing?
on the same note...what are people talking about when they say they are "Sliming"? I'm only 3 wks post op and I'd really like to avoid ALL that if possible! ugh.

I want some REAL food!?!?!?!?!
Hormel chili with cheese? Mmmmm, sounds good...I'll have to try that one! To Curious one.... When you are desperate enough...you can have the willpower to do it! I've never met anyone who regrets getting the band. The first question I ask anyone who has it...6 mos, a year and longer....is "Would you do it again?" And their answers have always been "Yes!" Good luck to you! I think we all know how you feel or we wouldn't be on this message board.

Diet Soda, Post-Lap Band
No sodas!! It expands your stomach...which is contradicting why you had the surgery in the first place! I like the balloon idea...that's a great analogy.

Banded June 5, 2008
No one told me no gum...but my friend said it may cause gas. I've always chewed gum so I can't stop. It helps my urge to chew!! My gas pains have been gone since Friday!!! yay!!!

Banded last Friday!
Yes! I've actually been concerned about not getting enough Protein. I was told I would experience hair loss if I didn't get enough! not sure if I'm getting enough of anything right now. I'm suppose to eat (drink) six small meals a day and I'm not drinking that much. I'll be glad to get past the liquids/creamies stage! My shoulder pain seems to be gone!!! Maybe all that walking on the golf course did the trick!! I hope so!! Happy one week Bandiversary to me and the other June sixers!!! ;o)

Banded last Friday!
My pain is so much better!! I laid flat on my back and alternately, lifted each of my knees to my chest. I was told this would help. I did sleep "propped up" for about five days after surger and it seems like when I laid flat and on my side it helped. I also went to a golf tournament with my teenager today and opted to walk the entire course instead of getting a cart...so hopefully the walking helped as well. I also had the "I need to burp feeling alot"...and still do some. I'm feeling so much better every day! Good luck to each of you and thanks for the advice and encouragement...it makes a world of difference!!!
