Keeping surgery a secret? What did you tell others?
I chose not to tell my bosses as I wasnt taking FMLA, just employer medical leave. I am open about my sleeve and have no shame in telling anyone. I am of the mindset that SWL as a whole needs to be normalized and brought to the light. I mean I don't walk up to random strangers but if someone asks, I tell them

Anyone for September 2020?
I had my VSG on 9/10. My high weight was 451 and my weight the day of surgery was 308. I am down to 239 as of today for a total of 211 lbs lost and 69 lbs since surgery. I am fighting to lose every single lb at this point but figure that my body is just playing catch up with itself. Keep on working through the stalls! This is my 3rd stall since surgery. I have put in my before and after so far.

Pre surgery diet freak out
My surgery was a Thursday and I too had a small appetizer for my Birthday dinner on Sunday and had zero problems at all. Which is how I know it was harder to do the diet after that lol Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using BariatricPal mobile app

Anyone for September 2020?
Sugar free outshine bars were my friends. I have also been adding unflavored protein to my gatorade zero cause any of the protein shakes have been hurting my pouch. Hope it gets better! Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using BariatricPal mobile app

Pre surgery diet freak out
I did a 2 week "full liquid" diet. I was hungry the first 3 days and it got so much easier after that. I did a protein shake mixed with ice and pb fit for breakfast blended. Then broth for lunch and protein shake for dinner. I also had yogurt in between lunch and dinner (i would go 6 hours between lunch and dinner due to work. Decaf tea was my friend. So was the gatorade zero and crystal light. The first days are the hardest but do not lose your resolve, then it makes it harder to start again! Good luck! GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br />
+
I was 450 when I started my overall weight loss journey. I was down to 331 at first SWL visit and as of surgery Thursday (sleeve) I was 308. I went to a dr's appt Monday and was down to 298. I refuse to weigh myself again until my 2 week follow up lol. Pics of full body was me at my highest and 3 days before surgery. Pics of just my head was me on Monday. Anyone for September 2020?
I had My sleeve done last Thursday. Other than some over medicating in recovery, surgery was smooth. The Pre l-Op diets work because they didn't even have to retract my liver at all. I went into Pre-Op diet weighing 325lbs and when I went into the hospital, I only weighed 308. Then yesterday at my PCP check up, I weighed only 298 5 days post-op. It is amazing Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using BariatricPal mobile app

Scolded for using "wrong" protein shake post-op
This is my thought too. My program has an affiliation but they tell me to whatever protein I feel comfortable with as long as it is low in sugar and carbs. I was solely using PP and Core Power with Fairlife milk and my Dietician suggested using Quest which has less sugar and tasted better to me. They always suggested Unjury first but ultimately say just get your protein in

I’m screwed ! :(
This I am on day 6 of the pre op and i am down 16 lbs. If you really stick to it, it ia possible. However, i would really be honest with them and say you were estimating and it appears like you were wrong. You are getting this done because you need the help. My surgeon expected me to continue to lose weight after my last appointment so I would just be up front and know that you will lose some of the weight during pre-op Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using BariatricPal mobile app

Pre op liquid diet
I am day 5 of my liquid diet and I dont care for my protein shakes. So i started adding ice to them and blending them to be "milkshake" consistancy. I also found flavors that would be good with PB Fit and add those for extra protein. My nutrionist told me I can add liquid consistency baby food in as long as there is no added sugar for the in between times. You can do this! I am down 14 lbs in 5 days doing this. Anyone for September 2020?
I cook for my family too and I have been on the liquid diet for about 5 days now. Best thing I can suggest is drink something while you are making food. it has kept my hands busy when I am tempted to taste test my food. The first 3 days are really the hardest and then day 4 was when the head hunger hit. Today has been so easy to manage. You can do it!

Preop diet feeling sick
