stacer12 got a reaction from sach1 in Always hungry...
I had real, legitimate hunger because I was getting hypoglycemic. I’m not diabetic, but I have PCOS so my insulin levels were too high, which would make me hypoglycemic and feel weak, shaky, and starving until I ate again. I had the same problem pre-op and naively thought the surgery would help fix it. I was started on medication which helped immensely. They gave me an appetite suppressant (phentermine), and Saxenda and metformin for the crazy insulin levels, and it made a difference in my hunger level within a day or two.

stacer12 got a reaction from Suzi_the_Q in Tired of Questions...need some reasons for weight loss
I’ve had men come up to me in my office, interrupt what I’m doing, and just ask why I’m not smiling, and that I would look better if I would smile. Like why the hell would I be just sitting here smiling while I’m working on my computer? That would be f**king weird. And why would you say that to me? Would you tell a man the same thing? No, no you wouldn’t. I’m not a f**king trained chimp here for your entertainment or to make you feel better about yourself. Although if I were a chimp, I would at least have an excuse to fling poop at these people. That would be pretty awesome.

I would love to, and I am very direct in general, but that combined with my resting b***h face has caused me to be “counseled” several times about how I’m “aggressive” when I interact with people (not in regards to this, but other things, as well). Cuz if you have a vagina you’re not allowed to be direct or you’re considered a b***h. If I’m not at work, I don’t give a ****, but this is literally happening multiple times a day in my workplace.
Also, I asked the HR lady for tips on what to say to avoid me getting in trouble for being aggressive, and her advice was “just thank them.” Um, yeah, I’m not gonna do that.

stacer12 got a reaction from RainbowBrite57 in Silly plan
I think that's a great idea! I would do something similar, but last year I KonMari'ed my clothes and am down to a pretty minimal capsule wardrobe of things that only fit me at my current weight (I pretty much wear black pants, a royal blue top, and a cardigan every day). My surgery is scheduled for 05/12/2020, so I know I'll need to buy some new clothes soon. However, other than my family and close friends, I don't want everybody and their mother knowing right now that I'm using surgery as a tool to help my weight loss.
So my grand plan is I've bought clothes that are identical to my current wardrobe just in a couple of smaller sizes, so that way if people comment on my weight loss I can just say "I don't know what you're talking about, these are the same clothes I've always worn!" Plus having to wear a mask at work every day and basically isolating myself in my office is helpful, because I can just say "you just haven't seen my face for my months because of the COVID."

stacer12 got a reaction from ms.sss in Sleeve scheduled 05/12/2020, pre-op diet isn't so bad
My surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday the 12th, after being delayed for about a month. My surgeon seems to follow some different protocols from what I've seen a lot of other people post. I only have to follow my pre-op diet for one week, and it consists of two Protein Shakes a day then a small meal consisting of lean Protein and veggies. I thought I would be tired and hangry, but my hunger has been pretty manageable and I actually feel physically better and less tired and achy than I did before starting the pre-op diet (I have an autoimmune disease and my GI doctor suspects I have mild Celiac disease so it could have something to do with not eating gluten). So, yay, I guess!
He also wants me drinking lots of Water the morning of surgery, up until about two hours before my scheduled start time, so that's definitely unusual.

I'm scheduled for 05/12/2020, and I also have PCOS. Really hoping that we'll have an easier time after the sleeve!

stacer12 got a reaction from PinknFlawless in Corona delaying weight loss surgery dates? Anyone?
Unfortunately my area is having a spike of cases of COVID19, so there are no elective surgeries happening. They actually even temporarily canceled all mediport placements for chemo patients (I work in an oncology clinic) until our surgeons complained because, you know, cancer patients sort of need their chemo.

stacer12 got a reaction from ChubRub in I weigh less than my husband!!!!
I'm in the same boat. My husband and I are both 38, and he has weighed the same thing since high school, around 130 pounds. He's muscular due to his job but very thin and lanky (but still in the normal BMI range). I don't think I will ever weigh less than him.
