    Name Game...

Lol. I didn’t name it, but my hubby has been talking to it since the pre-op diet made it noisy. That was “Pouchy” and Post-op it switched to “Tubey.” I’m only a week out, so not sure how long their relationship will last, but seems to be quite chatty between the two of them.

  6. So hard to not pick! Esp. Now that they are getting a little itchy. I don’t see any stitches, but the blobs of glue have semi-lifted and are buggin’! Good for you for getting your move on. I only managed another couple miles with one small hill before I was d.o.n.e. and my belly has been a little sore this afternoon. Finally get to weigh in tomorrow since it’ll be 1 wk, so that’s exciting/nerve wracking. 😬
  7. Thanks for asking the question. I was wondering the same thing. Yesterday, was my first day actually trying to get steps and I only got to 6k. Does it hurt your incisions? I found I had to wear the binder when I was walking more than just around the house.

That's so great! Sounds like you're set up for success and so glad it's going great! This place is really helpful. I really wish I'd known about it before my surgery, but so glad I've got it now. You're probably right that it'll have more than enough answers for my nervous nelly brain. Not exactly hating life, but I'm hungry, which I didn't expect. Maybe it's just mind games. Plus, I am a worrier, so constantly wonder if I'm doing/done something to mess things up. Thankfully, the pain hasn't been too bad and I haven't had any nausea (knock on wood) which would really be a bummer. Thanks again for asking

Thanks for clarifying. It's pretty much what I thought, but wouldn't mind double dipping, lol. Feel like I'm constantly sipping.

Thanks for your input @asnirak and @Rearguard. Nice to know I'm not alone and questioning. I don't really have any trouble getting water/tea type drinks down. It worries me a bit that I can drink them pretty fast? Even the Dr. provided shakes are pretty liquidy and I can get 8 oz down w/in 30 mins or so. Hope that's not a bad sign? Question: does the water that it is in all these type of items count towards the water intake count?

That’s cool! I’ve heard from so many that he’s the best. Do you go to the Support groups? Was wondering if they were well attended or if this serves the same purpose?

    Weight Gain Post Surgery

Totally relate to your worries, but I had my surgery a day before yours and was specifically told not to weigh myself for a week when discharged because it often fluctuates so much with the IV and swelling. I’m dying to see some sort of progress, but have one more day. Hope you have an easy recovery. I’m sure the scale will show it very soon, Steph

    From the album: Before VSG

Just a couple of weeks before surgery. My knees were hurting so bad from going up and down the stairs on this mini vacation to NYC. Can't wait to travel and be able to feel like I don't need a ton of breaks or am hurting my joints.

Office photo. Thought a pro could make the chins go away, but guess there is only so much they can do when there's a lot of extra weight there.

    Before VSG

I've been overweight all my life, but ready to make the change. This surgery is my commitment to live life to the fullest and make better choices so that I can be healthier and happier for years to come. The added weight I've been carrying around all these years has done some damage, but I believe it's never too late.

March 2020 Surgery Folks Come On in!

Just had my surgery Monday, 3/9. Feeling like I don’t know anything despite reading, watching videos, attending nutrition classes, etc. My Dr does full liquids after 24 hrs. and I’m doing ok, although already had some hunger which I thought wasn’t supposed to happen for months? Also, don’t know how many calories and liquids to shoot for by sipping. Took me all day to sip in the recommended meals which was 350 cals and not enuf water. I bought the post op diet kit from my dr since I knew I’d be too tempted if I had to make food. Smells from the kitchen when my family cooks is a bit of a trigger. Any advice is very welcome!
