I can keep stuff down, mostly. I just start retching for a few minutes, then just have this sort of malaise all day. I'm so sick of Protein Shakes omg, but I guess that's all I've got really. I'm so bummed.

I'm 6 weeks post op and no matter what I eat, I feel ill. I hate food now. I never want to eat anymore, I'm barely able to eat anything. When I eat, it hurts. When I drink (sip!), it hurts. I get dry heaves almost daily. I'm having a hard time meeting my macros, my meds make me feel sick too. Haven't met with my (b***h) doctor yet- she has the worst bedside manner I have EVER encountered! I do not feel confident or comfortable talking to her at all about my issues. I've even tried switching to another program but that "just isn't done." I hope this passes, I feel so hopeless rn.

I'd put a call into your surgeon. Bariatrics is very specific and they may be better equipped to identify and help you with your pain.

One of the reviews for it was from a WLS patient who said this Shampoo and conditioner was the only thing that worked. I haven't gotten to the Hair loss phase yet, but I started using it and my hair has never been so thick or grown so fast. The Biotin supplement helps support your hair, the saw palmetto blocks the process that makes your hair shed. btw- I only use the shampoo/ conditioner ~2x per week. Take the supplements every day.

Try this and the Biotin conditioner. Start taking saw palmetto along with biotin.Hope it helps.

My stall lasted 2 or 3 weeks. Very disheartening, but it broke eventually!

Yeah, get a new PCP ASAP. Mine was very supportive, very on the ball with it, (both of them, actually- my PCP left the clinic a month before my surgery, so I got in with a new one right before.) This guy is a jerk. I wish you the best with your surgery- you got this!

BTW- if you just need to chew or crunch something- use ice or popsicles. Good luck, it's the worst part of the whole ordeal IMO.

Thank you for the reassurance. I wasn't basing my expectations on 600lb life, but on info from this site and others like it. I am eating, and generally making my Protein goals etc. I just so often feel kinda pukey when I eat, drink, or take my meds that I struggle with making myself do it. I'm still learning to sip and space out my meals adequately. These technical details are a lot harder than I was expecting- I was not a big bite person anyway, but I could sit and eat a meal without it getting cold by the time I was done. Just more learning curve.

Today is officially my 1 month post bypass, and I've only lost 16lbs. I had a gnarly 2.5 week stall, but I barely eat anything- I feel like I should be losing more. 16 lbs. in a month is nothing to sneeze at, but I thought It'd be a little more. Are my expectations too high? I've been struggling to get in enough fluids too. Just feeling a bit disheartened.

I'm a gamer, so I use the Habitica app. I set my own goals including difficulty settings (I'm disabled/ fibromyalgia too) so I have tasks/ achievements for when I take my Vitamins, have a Protein Shake, make my other Protein goals, Water intake, exercise etc. I get "experience" points and my character levels up, earns pets, mounts, items etc. I've just started using it and it's been a real help.

I'm in Oregon, it only covers RNY and sleeve.

If you’ve been nauseated for 3 days, I’d go back. What does your surgeon say? I’m sorry you’re suffering so much.

No matter what you look like, everyone is nervous about their body their first time. If you’ve gone through the first couple of bases, so to speak, he’s felt what your body is like and he’s still interested. My advice is candlelight and ask him for a massage: everyone looks better by candlelight, he’ll get a feel for your body, squish and all, and it’ll help you relax and get comfortable with him touching and seeing you in an intimate way. Plus, a lot of men like women with some softness to them! If you have cats or are uncomfortable with open flames get the electric candles. Also, try talking to him about this. My personal rule has always been: if you don’t feel comfortable talking with someone about sex and intimacy, you probably shouldn’t be doing it with them. Men like being clued in. Good luck.

Typically, at about 3 weeks post-op you'll have a stall in weight loss, could last a week or a few weeks. It breaks eventually, but it's very disheartening. If you do a search on the forum for "3 week stall" you will find a lot of posts and information.

So after I lost all the Water weight from surgery, I lost 10lbs- all by week 1.5. Now? Nothing. I'm just past my 2 week mark now. Did I get the infamous 3 week stall early? Also sick of feeling kinda crappy multiple times per day. And who has time to eat 8x per day?? And do they really expect it to take 1/2 hour + to eat 2oz of food? ? Very frustrated.

You're still pumped up full of Fluid. I gained 10lbs in the hospital, only started losing a few days ago and I had RNY 12/29. It'll happen.

I agree, just be direct about it. If your dr doesn't refer you, find a new one. At your BMI and with your wl difficulties, it shouldn't be an issue getting the referral.
