I got my initial consultation for April 2nd also. I asked to be put on a waiting list for a cancellation and it worked. I got called this morning and will see the surgeon in 2 days. If you haven’t yet call them and ask to be put on that list. Good luck

My insurance is requiring 6 months of nutrition appointments prior to approval. My Doctor gave me a referral and I’m waiting to hear from them. Their office said 7-10 businesses days at least to hear back.. my question is did anyone use Weight Watchers instead? Or use another way of showing 6 months of nutrition/weigh ins? I’m a big planner type person and just seeing if I should have a plan B ?. Thanks!

Hi! I just had a successful meeting with my Doctor and was given a referral to the Bariatric program in my area. Even though I have a PPO insurance, I still needed this step. I am going to do 6 months of nutrition appointments required by my insurance and I call tomorrow to set it up. I also started blood pressure medication today. My BMI is right at 40 so I am nervous about being disqualified but hoping the BP meds help my case. Wishing everyone a successful day on their journey and wanted to share. Got the ball rolling and feeling good!

Attended the weight loss seminar last night. Next step is getting a doctor to refer me to the program. Even though I have a PPO insurance, I still need a referral letter. My BMI is right at 40.. The small fear I have is going threw all the steps and then being denied. But I’m going to go full steam ahead and fight for my health! Good luck to everyone in their journey.

Hi everyone! I’m at the very beginning of this process and I’m so glad I found this support group. I go to my first seminar next week and getting ready to meet with a doctor to start the program. I have been thinking about this surgery for YEARS and I’m ready to now go for it. I’ll be watching and cheering you all on from my side.
