  1. It was so great to see you ladies tonight!!! Thank you all so much for doing it for me!!
  2. Kimaly!!! Congratulations!!! That is a huge accomplishment!
  3. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::tongue::laugh:
  4. The way my Dr puts it, there are a couple of ways. One is that the tubing was punctured during a fill, or there is a mechanical problem with the port and tubing itself. I have also been reading that some of the older needles that were used have resulted in small holes in the port where they enter to give you a fill. It sucks, but I am getting my tubing and port replaced Thursday, so I will let you know how it goes!
  5. Sorry about your sucky boss!! And the UTI suck too! When it rains it pours doesn't it? I suppose it's just another lesson to learn in life. I think patience has to be the biggest lesson I need, because it keeps popping obstacles in my way. Feel better!!
  6. That SUCKS! To me something seems hinky. I wish there was a way to find out if it is your dr's fault so that you wouldn't be charged for the surgery. But to have to go through another surgery just sucks! I am so sorry that you have to do this.
  7. Thank you so much! You are wonderful! I do still have your number, had to go to my PM inbox, as I left my phone in a pair of pant and washed them, so lost all my contacts. You are so sweet! I really appreciate it!
  8. I am getting a port revision on the 17th. It sucks. i have gained almost 20 lbs being 2 months without restriction. I am exercising and trying to hold back on the calories. it is really hard without help. Good to find a thread where others have had the same issue though. I really appreciate the insight you have given me!
  9. My appointment is at 3:30, but Natalie said it might be later, because Dr K has surgery that day. So just having to kinda play that one by ear. Not sure when I will fly in yet, but I can hang out at the Dr's office bldg for a while if I need to. I will bring movies to watch on my laptop or something.
  10. YAY! I am so excited to get to see you both again! I was wondering where the Red Robin you guys usually meet at is? I will be alone at my preop and until about midnight which is when my mom will get there, so she can take me to surgery the next day. I am going to be staying at the Sleep Inn on Arapahoe and the freeway. I can book it for about $50 a night. I am taking a shuttle from the airport to the Dr but if I could get a ride from there to RR it would be much appreciated!!
  11. :Dancing_biggrin: I am just wondering if, after having the leak fixed, there was any change in how fast of slow they lost the weight as opposed to how fast or slow they lost before they even had a leak.
  12. No, I am going to be getting a port revision. Where the Dr. will just replace the port and tubing in my band.
  13. I never had one done before or since. If they require one talk to your surgeon about how you feel. It is likely that they can give valium or something to help with the nerves. I am terrified of the dentist and that is what they give me. It is great stuff!! I really helps. It can't hurt to ask!
  14. I understand what you are feeling. It took me almost 6 moths to get pretty good restriction. Don't give up yet! You have just started your journey! You CAN do this! So many people have been where you are now! I highly recommend asking questions and seeking advice here. But don't give up!!!
  15. So I got my port revision scheduled for the 17th of June. I am driving out with my Mom and two sisters (DH is staying to work with the boys we nanny or he'd be there). I am looking forward to the beautiful drive through the mountains! Is there any chance that you ladies might want to have a Red Robin night on the 16th? It's a Wednesday, so I totally understand if you can't make it mid-week. We are going to drive back the 18th, so I can make it back for a surprise bday party I planned for my best friend. Crazy, I know. But DH tells me I'm crazy, so I might as well go with it!
  16. I've noticed that my legs had that cottage cheese look, until I started using my elliptical. For me it has really helped tone my legs. They are much smoother now than they were before. But as other said before me it will depend on how your own body works. Everyone is so different that one thing isn't going to work for everybody. But I really have found that exercise helps.
  17. I have had a similar problem come up recently. I was supposed to have over 6 cc's and the Dr could only pull out 1.2. he gave me a fill right there, and tried to pull it back out. Not all of it would come. I am scheduled for a port replacement on the 17th. Hopefully yours is just a leak in the tubing. It is pretty rare to have a leak in the actual band. Good luck!
  18. Exactly. Not everyone is the same. I had a bad day once, and got a chocolate frosty from wendy's and lost a pound the next day. I thought it was a fluke, so wrote it off. Another bad day several weeks later and the same exact thing happened. I found out then that I needed to take in more calories than the 800-1000 that so many people think is the limit. I have to eat over 1500 to keep losing. It just the way my body works. Does it mean I eat a frosty every night? No. Do I justify eating frostys? Nope. I just make sure I don't do it often. But I don't beat myself up about it either. We can't deny ourselves everything because then we are just on another diet.
  19. Sorry!!! He!!! I just see a lot more women on here than men. Sorry again!
  20. LOL! I agree, McD is pretty bad. But it could have been a lot worse. I have read of people on the liquid portion of the post op diet getting big macs and fries. I had ice cream mixed with Protein powder and Peanut Butter to help me get enough calories. And the body does need some sugar. I did say that I didn't think it was a good choice, and could lead to future bad habits. But my main point was that she shouldn't beat herself up about it.
  21. CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!! Bleeding is not something to just leave alone. Call tomorrow, and get in asap. Let them know on the phone that you are bleeding. They may want to run some tests. Better to be safe than sorry!
  22. Now beating your dog with a stick is something to get up in arms about!! LOL! Seriously though, some of the earlier comments were from people who haven't had their band very long. Don't stress too much. I like your attitude that you will do the band the way it is meant. Everything (you can tolerate) in moderation. That one of the reasons I chose the band in the first place. I wasn't going to have to force myself to diet all the time. That is pretty much torture for me.
  23. Sounds like you were stuck. I would just avoid tuna for a bit and try it again another time. Chili was my problem. I didn't eat it for a year almost. It is kind of a trial and error thing on how you figure out what you can tolerate. Good luck!
  24. All I did for the first 2 weeks was walk around the house. After that I was back to work where I am on my feet a lot. I would just tone it down a bit. Your body may still need time to heal. Keep exercising by all means, but maybe just try 30 minutes of moderate walking at first and gradually build up to more. Good luck!
  25. You really shouldn't be too hard on yourself. You are in the stage of healing, not weight loss. It wasn't the best decision you could have made, but it could have been worse. All you can do is try not to do it again. Will you make mistakes along the way? Yes. We ALL do. Just don't get down on yourself for 1 mistake. Or 2 or 10. They happen. Just try again tomorrow to be better. It probably didn't hurt anything to get in some calories today since you missed breakfast. But I would just keep some Protein Shakes in your car if possible so that you don't have to take the fast food route. It can lead to some bad habits.
