    Robotic sleeve surgery

You will do great! I ended up having a 4 hour surgery instead of 2 because I had a huge hernia that we did not know about. That being said I got right off the table when they brought me to my room from recovery and sat in a chair instead of getting in the bed, put my pajamas on, and was walking within an hour! My recovery has been great. The only real pain I had at all was the gas pain from the CO2 they put in. That lasted a few days and was pretty bad but that was it! No problem drinking water, no nausea ect. I really think the robotic surgery is the way to go and a much easier recovery!

    Scared to eat?

I still have 2 more weeks on shakes before moving to pureed food. I have been on liquids as of tomorrow for 4 weeks. My biggest fear is I won't feel any restriction or fullness when I start eating. I have had no problem whatsoever drinking more water than what is required nor drinking any of the shakes. I don't feel any pain or restriction and have not had any episodes of nausea or vomiting! Not even immediately after surgery! Has anyone ever heard of anyone else like that or experienced that? Sometimes I feel like I didn't even have the surgery?

    Struggling with preop diet

I would call my surgeon if I couldn't get in touch with the dietitian. Keep drinking chicken broth too!

    Too much water at once?

I pray it gets better for you. I think I was really out of the norm because most people do have a hard time in the beginning. the weird part Is I never have liked water and really hated the idea I would have to give up my mountain dews. I really have been worried that something was wrong with my surgery since I could drink it like that. I dont know why there is such a difference. I hope it turns around for you quickly! Lol💗

    Too much water at once?

I was able to drink all of my water while still in the hospital. I have been home from the hospital since Saturday afternoon and probably drinking 100 ounces or more. I am shocked. I have not had any nausea or anything!

    Robotic sleeve surgery

Mine went very well. I ended up having a huge Hiatal hernia that had to be repaired and surgery lasted 4 hours. 2 hours more than expected. Even with that happening I feel very little pain in the abdomen area. My biggest issue is I had my surgery on Thursday 2/27 and still have a lot of gas pain.

    I’m so nervous!

I had surgery last Thursday. I ended up having repair on what they said was a very large hernia. I was in surgery for 4 hours. I had mine done robotically. I can tell you that one of the 1st things I heard the recovery nurse say was they put a lot of air in you. I guess because the hernia was unexpected and I had some scar tissue. I have almost no abdominal pain, but a lot of pain from the gas which is getting a little better each day. I have and still am taking my pain meds because I just figured I might as well instead if being in pain. However I am reducing my dosage and will probably stop taking as of tomorrow! You will be fine!

    2nd day post op

I hope you will too. I am just a little shocked and confused because so many people have a struggle getting the water in. I don't know if the fact I had my surgery done robotically has anything to do with it or not?

    2nd day post op

So I had my surgery Thursday. I ended up having a very large Hiatal hernia that was repaired which caused my surgery to last 4 hours. I stayed in the hospital Thurday and Friday and came home Saturday afternoon. I still have a lot of pain from the air they put in. I was even told by the recovery room nurse that used a lot of air on me. It is starting to get some better. My biggest concern is I have had no problem at all drinking my water. Most everyone on here says they can't get close to getting it down. I can drink even more than the 64oz they want us to drink. It makes me wonder am I going to be able to eat normally instead of just a small amount? I will be liquids for a while but I sure hope i am not going to be able to eat without restrictions! Anyone else experience this?

    Tomorrow is the day!

Well guys, I had my surgery. Turns out I had a very huge hernia that I didn't know about! I was in surgery for 4 hours. I am doing great though except for the gas pain. I have walked, and I have drank a total of 20 ounces that also included 1 packer of injury clear protein drink. I have 6 little holes. Throat is a little sore but I am doing way better than expected. God is so good! Now can't wait to get over the air pain. My shoulders are really hurting!
