    OOTD

Damn right & I would love to go braless, but can't imagine that being in the cards!

Mine is very similar to yours. I'm almost a month post-op & they are healing well!.

Did you have surgical tape put on? I'm almost 4 weeks out & just had the last one fall off. Different surgeons have different styles. You look great & I'm glad you are not in pain!

I made this last night & absolutely love it!!! My recipe was a little different - smaller amounts & no egg, so a smaller portion & fewer calories, but basically the same. I baked at 350 degrees for 20 mins. but I might try broiling for the last 5 mins. So delicious! I think it will be my new fav!

So true! I am almost 1-month post-op & have been plugging along. I was swollen in the beginning & did not check my weight again until the end of the 2nd week. I highly recommend that you give up the scale for now. It's a time to heal & not to really lose (at least someone said that to me & I liked it). Hang in there!

    Life Taken Away

And more hearts & hugs ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗😌So sorry I can’t even imagine!
  8. I’m so frustrated in your behalf! Sorry you are not getting the necessary info from the ones who are supposedly know their stuff! Here’s what I learned: RNY 70-90 grams of Protein daily VSG 60-80 grams of Protein daily 64 oz of water daily (more if can & exercising) I’m suppose to be aiming for 600 calories daily (I’m about 3 weeks post-op). You are not done losing!!! You’ve got this & I’m glad you found this site!
  9. I love bullet journaling! I am not using one for this, but I probably will start now that you mentioned it. I do use a medicine/vitamin tracker that is pretty darn impressive (bullet journal style) but I keep it on a clipboard with my vitamins. I also received a very nice journal for Xmas from a friend. I changed the cover, added some washi tape & added my days before surgery, surgery day & post-op days. Each day I track (also use Baritastic App), I have the date, days post-op, doc notes, quotes, funny observations, recipe ideas, or products that I've heard about. I look forward to seeing what you do with yours. I agree, as much as I love the apps, there is something wonderful about paper & pen!

    Refrain from strenuous sex?

This is the closest to erotica I've read in a long time 🤣🤣🤣

    You look amazing! Congratulations!

    Cold 🥶 Feet 😬

You’ve got this! Remember to focus on the big picture & it will be worth it! I also think the pain is quickly forgotten. I’m on day 8 post-op & I’m feeling really good . I know how to get up & down, or pick up something without pain now. Yes, still healing, but what an opportunity to allow your body to rest and heal. The pain causes you to slow down & take care of yourself - how awesome is that ?! I never think I am that big, but obviously I’m big enough that surgery was a valuable tool. You’ve got this!!! I’ve not yet heard of anyone who has regretted this once they’ve healed. Don’t let fear stop you from making your health better- you are worth this!
  13. You should be so proud!!! You look great!
  14. This is the one I use also. So far I've added it to my pureed soups, yogurt & sometimes I'll just add it to my water. It seems to taste better than my powdered choc and vanilla.

    Home from the Hospital

I'm on the same page too! I'm day 7 post-op & it does seem to get better. We're in this for the big picture- maybe not this week or next... but sometime soon, we'll be glad we did this! Also, I've not lost any weight in the last 5 days- I'm the same weight as the day I got home. Isn't that weird? I am just going to say that my body is so amazing that it can hang on to calories so well! Kind of like if I was deserted at sea, I'd have a better chance at survival because of my amazing floating capacity. Hang in there!

So is coffee a real no-no?

My surgeon’s concern with caffeine was ulcers. I’ll have 1/2 cup with protein shake & that seems to be enough for me right now :)

    Pain

Please let us know how it goes!
  19. Surgery was 1/7 & now I'm 2 days post-op. The day after surgery was a bit rough- now, it's all about getting up & down. I have not figured out how to do that without excruciating pain in my right side of ab. I've tried videos, but still have not figured it out. Anyone else having this difficulty & how did you work around it? Thank you!

I had surgery on 1/7/20 - so close to yours- are you having more energy? I haven't had a problem with energy- just pain. I'm taking Tylenol and trying to walk a bit but still not leaving home. The car ride home was difficult and I'm not ready to get in the car again anytime soon. What drinks/foods are you enjoying at this point? Sugar-free jello & sugar-free popsicles are the best for me now. Also, the salty broth is tasting great. Be well.

Yes, I have. I've been taking the hair, skin, nails one from Costco- they are gummies. I started maybe a month pre-surgery & am continuing to take them still (surgery 1/7/20). They go down easy as they are gummies and my stomach has accepted them well.
  22. Yes, I had it on Tuesday 1/7 at Kaiser Fremont. I had Dr. Chu & think she's great. How are you feeling now & how was your experience there?

  23. I'm glad you asked about this- I was curious too!
  24. I'm curious to know what everyone has done to prepare for after the surgery. I think I'm a bit of an over-planner & want to get everyone else's ideas too. So far I have the following: All of my necessary Vitamins A set of Bariatric Utensils (from hubby for Xmas) A set of Appetizer forks & spoons for smaller bite sizes (Adorable!) Protein powders (Inspire- Whey protein, Variety flavors) & PB2 Light Muscle Milk and Premium Protein ready drinks Large Water Bottles (not new, but hold 24 oz) Broths Here is my wish list of other things: A fine mesh strainer nonfat milk dry powder (to add to some of my drinks for additional protein) cute 4 oz glasses, (plastic or glass) to help get some liquid meals down & 1 oz cups (like medicine ones) to measure intake. What have you done to prepare for your new life???
