Hi! My name is Missy. I'm 29 years old and am in the process of trying to be banded. We're submitting info to my insurance company in June with the hopes that I will be approved. I'm excited and also scared to death! I've been visiting this site for a little while now as part of my research efforts and have learned so much from you guys!!

Hi everybody! I'm new to this site as of today, but for the past few weeks I've been finding out all kinds of valuable info here. Thanks! I haven't been banded yet but have been working w/ my primary since January trying to get things together for the insurance company. I have friends that have had bypass but don't know anyone personally that has been banded. Does anyone know of a good surgeon in East Tennessee? I've found a few that my insurance covers but don't have much info on any of them.

I've been working with my primary since January trying to get everything together for the insurance company so they can decide if they will cover my surgery. I did soooo much research before I reached my decision, but I do think that LapBand is right for my situation. I have battled with the weight my entire life and I finally decided that I was just over it! I'm hoping all goes well with the insurance. We are submitting all the info next month and i'm nervous and excited all at the same time!
