  1. So jelly! I'm on three weeks liquid, three weeks puree, THEN I can start having actual food! My surgeon is VERY strict about following that timeline.
  2. Sleeved on 12/31, weighed myself on Wednesday and have lost 10 lbs. I'm finding a successful routine with my liquids and managing to get to 60ish grams on the protein. I feel like I've drank more liquid in the last week than in the last year! I'm on liquids for a total of three weeks before moving to the glorious puree stage!
  3. I'm a week out and had my first cup of decaf today with a healthy dose of a protein shake as creamer. Planning to stick to decaf forever.
  4. I am one week post-surgery and had my first cup of decaf coffee with Premiere Vanilla! Delicious!
  5. My laparoscopic RYN surgery is scheduled for February and I’ve been thinking about what it will be like post surgery. I would love to hear your perspectives on the topics below: Did you have a drainage tube or catheter in the hospital? No Did you have to go home with a drainage tube? No Were you able to sleep on your stomach when you came home? If no, how long was it until you could? No, but I can sleep on my side. It's been a week since my surgery and one incision is still tender. I'm a stomach sleeper, but I have been sleeping fine on my back or side. Your body will adjust. I’ve heard people recommend having a pillow for your stomach? Does that help if your surgery was laparoscopic? No pillow for me. And last but not least...is there anything you wish you would have known about what you would experience after surgery. Being on these forums, having a great team, and having two close friends having the surgery prepared me well for what to expect. The hardest part is smelling what my husband cooks. I've decided to go upstairs while he's eating. But, I keep telling myself that in a month I'll be able to eat normal again, albeit very small portions. I'm also still surprised at the fact that I CAN'T eat everything I intend. Last night, I attempted to eat yogurt and could only get through 3 oz. That's still weird to me!
  6. I’m still on pain meds too, only because the largest incision still hurts a lot. I’m hoping I can get off of them tomorrow. Still swollen too. But, that’s my only complaint so far!
  7. I was sleeved on 12/31 and also haven’t had a bowel movement. I started taking Colace yesterday. Considering I’ve only been taking in liquids, I’m not worried just yet.
  8. Have a great time! All of the walking will help to offset the food!
  9. I'm going with bronchitis. I've had it often in the past, so it's believable. Then, with the timing of the new year and my turning 50 this year, I will explain my weight loss as a result of a dedication to a keto-ish diet (that's actually true) so that I can be "Fab at 50!" Only my husband, two friends who've had the sleeve, and my best friend know the truth. I WILL tell someone I had the sleeve if it seems they're asking for themselves and not to be a nosy gossip. I work at a high school, so I already know that most of the inquiry from co-workers will be nosy gossip. It's easy to discern the nosy from the genuine ask.
  10. I had my sleeve on 12/31. The gas is gone, and I've figured out what "full" feels like! The incisions are still sore, but improving. Walking is really helping the most!
  11. Hi everyone, Just got scheduled yesterday for December 31 surgery! I'm excited!
