  1. I am a custodian and have an appt with surgeon;Dr. Andrew Averbach in Catonsville, MD Tues. Wish me luck. My Primary doctor gave them a referral, so I can take advantage of any co-pay from my ins. I already had blood lab work done ahead of time. I have no medical problem, except varicose viens and arthritis in my knees. I am on my feet all day at work, walk a lot. I'm glad I don't have a desk job. LOL I am curious if there are any custodians who may have went back to work in less than 3 weeks...I do lift a lot during school year as well as summer which I don't have to with other supportive co-workers as long as they don't get mad. D
  2. I think you can find one in the Baltimore area. Hope you found someone, sorry to hear that. I hope to get banded..D
  3. I'm from near St. Agnes Hospital and am going to make an appt. with Dr. Averbach. I've been to his seminar a year ago. I have decided to give it a try. My BMI is 43.2. I have knee arthritis and need to get this load off of me!! Good luck to everyone..Go to lapband dot com and search for doctors in any zip codes. D
  4. Hi, I'm new here and am going to work on getting an approval from my Ins and doctor. I,too was very succussful with WW program on points. Now, everytime I join I can't stick with it, so why should I keep spending money & miss out on meetings? I believe doing the points after banding would be great. I'm sure it will work with me. Points is easy, but I gotta be sure I eat some healthy food. I don't mind water, yogurt, protien drinks like slim fast in a blender for a slushy drink..I can't stand my weight and need to get it off to keep up with my job standing & bending over. Soo, I'm going to push it to try & get one done this summer..Wish me luck. I love hearing all the details like yours and hope everyone else will do the same. It really helps..Good luck with your surgery date!!
  5. I LOVE Mexico, ENJOY. I wish you good luck on less post op pain exploring Mexico. That is a great way to do this. Be sure you keep your passport with you at all times..Oh yea, always take a camera!!! ENJOY!!
  6. I am looking into lapband surgery to lose 100 + pounds. I have no High blood pressure, or any thing. I have arthritis terribly in my knees and stand on my feet at work cleaning all day. I hope my Ins. will cover most of this and approved my wish list. I can't wait to find out. I have tried all kinds of diets and pres. diet pills. I miss all the work outs I used to do. I'm exhausted nightly after work.. Congrats to all of you who made the band surgery. And good luck to those who are due for a band anytime soon.
