  12. Received a bill from my hospital today that my Co Pay for is over 4,000$$$ they are billing the band as durable medical equipment. Blue cross pays 70/30...upon researching the bill, l found out the hospital made a mistake and billed for two lap bands..Meanwhile the insurance paid the bill of over $21,000. When l called the insurance company to tell them of the error they said.....Now it looks like your total amount due to the hospital will be about $2,000. NO WHERE was l ever told about the billing system. Before my surgery, l called the insurance probably 20xs..l got an approval letter and all..Nothing was mentioned about the durable medical equipment..The insurance is insisting that the cost of the actual lap band is about $9,000...wow thats an expensive piece of plastic...something is wrong with this whole picture...Has anyone else had this problem?????
